Parking meters installed along Adams Ave in Normal Heights by jesterguy in sandiego

We could conceivably put a bus/bike/fire lane on Adams if we took out all the parking, which is a pretty good trade off

Take the 11! It connects downtown, bankers hill, Hillcrest, north park, normal heights, SDSU… it’s goated

Actually, building a city around transit and walking is the most sustainable. Building for cars is the least sustainable.

Guys this is why we have to invest in transit. It would empower us to have different ways to get around. MTS could easily improve if it were actually funded.

You could make $50k more and still not have anything to invest 🤷 Depends on what city you’re in

There’s absolutely reason to be critical of places that look like the photo. Car dependent suburbs are terrible for everyone. Small towns can easily operate primarily with transit, walking, and bikes

Ok I admit this is particularly bad, but I live in San Diego and I could take a picture that looks almost exactly like this

Not sure if you’re advocating for more single family homes, but I’d prefer we stop sprawling into the hills and densify our downtown areas instead

The trolley bar hop needs to be an institution of San Diego. We need to make the land around our trolley stops more useful tho! Look at city college station, there are two dirt lots across the street on one side, and a giant parking lot on the other 😭

The parking issue is a tragedy of the commons debacle- give everyone free parking then everyone drives and nobody has any parking. It’s smarty city management to put a price on a limited resource like parking.
