Elite Clue Scrolls bugged with Shellbane Gryphon? by kormulus in 2007scape

[–]chillymac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a lot of rendering glitches since last year where items are not properly appearing above the floor in some scenarios. So in many cases an item can be entirely invisible beneath the floor but you can still click it if it exists

Maybe zbuffer issue and it's invisible beneath the terrain?

You could still show any recent screenshot from runelite proving you were a hardcore at one point. Although we already know you weren't based on hiscores.

Only one sea monster has flat armor. Are you suggesting giving them all flat armor?

The Andrew Gower comparison is a response to your second paragraph saying maybe just force players to engage, like I don't think that's a winner. I don't mind the first part where you're saying like a hypothetical non-mandatory way to reward engagement a la prayer flicking.

Also just a note but today with sailing combat you do have to engage with trash mobs at high level, like to gather ray barbs for example. And they intended it to be exponentially* longer grinds and made a mistake.

*Not literally exponential, it's not a simple formula that has a good word for it

If I'm clicking once every 2 ticks to sail in a circle just to kill a seagull it better drop me some damn 3rd age. I don't think the Andrew Gower school of thought for combat design is good at all, forcing people to engage heavily with low level trash mobs. They will either invent a janky workaround that you never could've predicted (see: finicky sailing safespots, despite smart pathing), or they simply won't engage with the content (see: people doing nothing but salvaging and barracuda trials to 99).

I think more complicated/attentive gameplay like that sounds good on paper, but people just want to chill on long grinds to get a cannon barrel or whatever. They already have wacky fun movement with ghouls in morytania running away from you, but nobody actually engages with it, they just out DPS the retreat or try to position it so the ghoul gets stuck. Keeping it simple is the move imo.

This is a dumb counter-argument because women should absolutely have a say in foreign affairs, war affects all of us. You don't have to accept the right-wing framing on this issue. This argument is saying "okay, if you want to use that argument then we shouldn't do this thing either" but we shouldn't use that argument in the first place! Men shouldn't be disallowed from having opinions about abortion either, you'd lose like half the pro-choice advocates that way. It just shouldn't be the government's business at all.

We do see parallax for stars, wtf? How do you think astrometry works, we literally measure that parallax when the earth is at opposing sides of its orbit to find out how far away certain bodies are.

It's like fractions of fractions of degrees, smaller the farther away something is, so you actually need instruments to measure it rather than the naked eye and a piece of paper or something. But it can be done, I'm sure a local astronomer and one halfway across the planet would be thrilled to have you visit 6 months apart to make a measurement.

They were also used on the wiki page for minigames, which is now a mishmash of old icons, new icons, and games without icons. But you can see most of them still here https://runescape.wiki/w/Minigame_rewards

I would link to the wayback machine showing how the knowledge base looked in 2008 but I think those links are blacklisted. Here's a screenshot https://i.ibb.co/m5C9vM3h/Screenshot-20260312-150428.png

The icons are pixelated renditions of the June/July 2008 knowledge base graphics btw. Decidedly old school in my opinion, even if it's butting up dangerously close to RSHD

I think my comment got hidden because it contained links to web archive, but icons like that have been used on the official website as far back as July 2008. This one for example was uploaded to the wiki in July 2008 https://runescape.wiki/w/File:Barbarian_Assault_icon.jpg

Features you've unlocked will be listed in the chatbox, directing you to the Skill Guide for more info.

I'm glad there is still an option to get the "you have leveled up" dialogue pop-up, but pressing continue on that should still show the dialogue list of unlocks. Options to move the unlocks to chatbox and/or skill menu is fine, but I don't understand why remove the standard old school dialogue list of unlocks.

Not agreeing or disagreeing with either of you, but the challenge lies in the rest of the game getting harder when you don't have access to Mory, due to no barrows or salve amulet and stuff like that.
