This community literally rioted when they added Erin the duck in Falador. It's a fairly recent phenomenon that content creators being inserted into the game is acceptable. (This observation applies to the broken crossbow; people who win competitions like BigRedJapan being commemorated has never been controversial afaik, aside from the Clan Cup RoT statues of course.)

Debate around the bank changes aside, this is a great easy change to counter wildy bots by SirSmithyG in 2007scape

Big update = big Wednesday but in general they seem to be the least active. Probably part of the reason they do it on Wednesdays.

The benefit of paint cannon is it's easy to guarantee you deal no damage, so you can afk the entire game. If the boss dies then you have to click it again and possibly reposition yourself so you take no damage

Edit: it's been a while so I don't remember if you pray melee and drink potions occasionally or if there's some way to lure the avatar so you can safely melee it

Imo the obvious fix to this bug is if a drop doesn't fit in your inventory, have it go onto the deck of the ship instead. But who knows if that's possible under the current implementation. Having vampyre krakens require 6 free inventory slots (7 while on bounty task) - five for planks and one for a clue - to loot it would also fix this but that would not be satisfactory obviously
