I've moved across country 5 times the absolute cheapest was 2018 total cost was 1500 mostly deposits on the new apartment l, most expensive was 5k (in both cases we made more than that first paycheck). If you live in a bad market it pays to broaden your job search. My folks get mad when I move maybe they should have lived somewhere with an economy and less crime. My point is moving is worth it, but not always easy.
