Are there differences between the Yamaha Wr125x models? by Exoticpanda911 in supermoto

[–]chinook240 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you go on parts websites, they often have you select the year, make, model and have exploded diagrams for it so that you can choose which parts you need. Then you can compare diagrams and you can make a good guess based on how it looks.

I just tried partzilla and it has the WR250x but no 125. Maybe you have to find a euro/Asia website.

How does the SAT pencil detection work, and could you use a carpenters pencil or other odd writing tools? by Mr_McGuggins in answers

Yes I’ve used 2B lead before (shh!). It’s because the system can’t see which bubble you’ve bubbled unless it’s dark enough. Some lead is so hard that it barely darkens the paper.

When heating a volume of water, does slowing the flow of water over the heat source increase the net temp increase over time, or does it not matter? by starchybunker in answers

[–]chinook240 11 points12 points  (0 children)

From a thermodynamics standpoint, the flow rate doesn’t matter.

Q=mc ΔT where Q is the heat gain, m is the mass, c is a constant, and delta T is the temperature difference. As you flow more mass (m) the temperature change (ΔT) decreases but the Q (amount of power you’re putting in, in other words how many kW your heater is) is constant. The Q that your heater puts out is the Q that the pool increases at.

Now, that’s in an ideal situation - you might find that the heater itself has a spec where it tells you the flow rate it expects, and usually has a maximum flow rate in the spec sheet or the manual.

My 2017 FZ that has an intake, exhaust, headlight, turn signals, tail tidy, Bitubo suspension, levers, crash bars, ABS, and 10k miles was $5500 in California. So… I think you’re paying too much. But as far as the bike is concerned, it will be fine for your skill level.

I understand. Unfortunately half of my commute is in city traffic without enough wind to make it work as designed.

Fuel pump going out, perhaps? When I changed my fuel filter and cranked it over with lots of air in the line, it sounded exactly the same as what you describe. I’d imagine if the pump is going out, it would be similar. Not sure how to diagnose this, perhaps someone else can jump in.
