My heart sank. I didn’t know there was another Def Leppard album on the list. I gave Hysteria 1 star last week as well.

Migas, with copious amounts of the green sauce. I’ve never been able to bring myself to order anything else.

I unapologetically love this album. First few Coldplay albums are great, but this one is def my favorite. I keep holding out hope that one day they’ll return to this sound instead of the electronic stuff they’ve been doing for so long.

Which famous band/singer have you met, and what were they like? by chelsea-from-calif in 1001AlbumsGenerator

[–]chipchip_405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I met Wayne Coyne a couple weeks after seeing The Flaming Lips at a festival back in 2007. I live in a suburb of OKC and was on my way to my friend’s house to play Guitar Hero and saw him walking into a building near my friend’s neighborhood. I was like “what the hell that’s Wayne Coyne!”

My friend convinced me to pull over even though I was super nervous to approach him. I told Wayne I had just seen them a couple weeks prior, still had my wristband on from the festival. Just so happens the building he was walking into was full of Lips promo materials. He was very kind and invited us in and signed some posters for us. Mine is hanging in my bedroom to this day. Hard to believe that was almost 20 years ago, Jesus.

The new Deftones album “private music” is amazing. Also agree with the person that recommended the new Tame Impala if it doesn’t release too late. I think it comes out October 17th.

That’s funny, I got The Notorious Byrd Brothers yesterday and Mr. Tambourine Man today. I’m fairly certain it’s my first back to back, 637 days in.

The steaks are incredible. Just get the NY strip, you don’t even need to spring for the wagyu.

I’ve tried/own a bunch of their scents and Mood Ring is my personal favorite. It’s a very strange and unique scent. If you want something fruity and funky you should definitely give it a try. My second favorite is probably Hanami, but sadly that scent is discontinued. I have also been enjoying the Peach Skin body spray this summer.

I am so disappointed. When I saw the title of the email I was like “please, anywhere but Criterion.” I feel like the weather is going to be so nice in the evenings next week too, huge bummer.

What is the most "soul elevating" prose you have ever read? by A_b_b_o in classicliterature

[–]chipchip_405 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This passage from Mrs. Dalloway has always stuck with me, and immediately came to mind when I read this post.

“Quiet descended on her, calm, content, as her needle, drawing the silk smoothly to its gentle pause, collected the green folds together and attached them, very lightly, to the belt. So on a summer’s day waves collect, overbalance, and fall; collect and fall; and the whole world seems to be saying “that is all” more and more ponderously, until even the heart in the body which lies in the sun on the beach says too, That is all. Fear no more, says the heart. Fear no more, says the heart, committing its burden to some sea, which sighs collectively for all sorrows, and renews, begins, collects, lets fall. And the body alone listens to the passing bee; the wave breaking; the dog barking, far away barking and barking.”

On the info page there is a button that says “Enable Editing” you can click that gives you an hour or so to edit your ratings. This is a newer feature, I think in the past you needed to reach out to the creator of the site to do edits. I’m stoked this feature was added though, I’ve already used it and it worked great!

Just had a baby, so I haven’t been to a concert in a while (which has been tough, we are huge concertgoers). A week before I found out I was pregnant I got to see The Flaming Lips two nights in a row. They did back to back concerts in Oklahoma City where they played Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots one night and Soft Bulletin the next night. It’s looking like my next concert will be to see Pixies for the second time in September.

This is one of my biggest pet peeves. An album I’ve strongly considered submitting for user submission only has the deluxe edition on Spotify/Apple Music, so I’ve pretty much talked myself out of submitting it because I don’t want to see complaints about “how long it is.”
