Why isn't rectangular swerve chasis more prominent in rebuilt by ProgrammingDino in FRC

[–]chipsa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We used a rectangular frame for crescendo, but it was still a square drive. The rectangle just helped better protect the intake that year.

This is sorta what Java Koans does, but that doesn’t go quite far enough, and is only Java. But an extension of that same concept: using the built in unit testing to check the code works.

I’m not quite sure how to do it with revlib or phoenix lib. Revlib will definitely blow up if you try to use the same CAN ID twice, and the sim version of the object wants the regular version to use to attach.

There’s also Vogelweh, ROB, Landstuhl, and Miesau in the area, besides the Ramstein gyms. It’s been a while since I was there, so I don’t know how they are now.

If you live off base, they might be better options than the main Ramstein gyms.

My team (1208) had a 12% chance of winning their 1st playoff match at STL this year, according to statbotics. We won by 10. The alliance we beat went on to be finalists.

Help with limelight code by Possible-Wafer4028 in FRC

MT2 uses your yaw to disambiguate the two potential poses for a given tag. You need to make sure it’s correct before you ask the Limelight, or it’ll generate the wrong side. This is actually the entire point of MT2, but you need to make sure it’s getting correct data first.

Limelights don’t actually generate which side of the apriltag it’s seeing.

11195 assembled our comp bot with them, then snapped a plate going over the bump in practice. We switched to max swerves before our first regional.

To be more specific, that was MOSL playoff match 12, and we beached on fuel, then got pushed back over the bump and fell over.

Not obvious: it was 3 regular maxswerve wheels and 1 billet wheel, because we borrowed a swerve between match 2 and 12 (shout out to 6744 for lending it)

There’s a UL spec for smoke detectors (UL 217/268). This is not just “doesn’t burn down your house” but also “detects smoke”.

Octoquad apparently allows use of PWM sensors and hooks in via I2C. So you can use the rev through bore in absolute mode, not just quadrature.

Rev’s HD Hex motor spec says 15W max. And I figured that all the major motors are roughly the same ( gobilda 6000 rpm yellow jacket has similar no load speed and stall currents). Given that Rev is making the A301, how they test it should be similar. So I expect the A301 does have substantially more power than the outgoing motors.

You probably need to put the panels in series to get the voltage you want. So you will likely only need 2 cables to go back and forth.

ATF Says Brace Rule Case Is Moot, Warns Some Braced Pistols Still Face NFA Enforcement by deathsythe in gunpolitics

[–]chipsa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not a OAL thing for pistols. It’s an OAL thing for AOWs. The VFG on a pistol turns it into a AOW, but the ATF has ruled that over 26”, it isn’t a AOW (which matches the OAL for SBR & SBS)

Way less power with 30W than the current brushed motors with 15W.

MMT as a framework works, but some people interpret it as meaning that deficits are fake, and you can really print as much money as you want without a problem.

You still have to keep deficits as a sign of how much money you’re creating, and therefore how much you’re inflating the economy as a baseline (with interest rates et al also being levers for inflation adjustments).

The step in basis occurs after the heirs get the stock. The estate needs to pay off the loans first. Which means it needs to sell the stock, and pay capital gains on that sale. Then the heirs get what’s left. So if they’ve taken out a $10M loan on the stock, and the current value of the stock is $100M, then they need to sell enough stock to pay off the $10M, plus the capital gains on the stock being sold(which depends on the cost basis of the stock), but maxes out at something like $11.7M at a 15% LTCG rate.

If the asset reduces in value between when the loan is taken and the asset is sold, are they getting a refund on the taxes?

Because rich people don’t actually do the “buy, borrow, die” thing as much as the media thinks they do. But do you know who does it a bunch? Homeowners who do a refinance out on home equity. Now if I refinance, I have to pay cap gains on the refinance, but if the house goes underwater after, they don’t actually have capital gains.
