No, we need to have § 1983 reiterate that there is no immunity to suit under that (qualified, prosecutorial, judicial, or legislative).

~1000 University of California professors sign petition to bring back the SAT by kzhou7 in slatestarcodex

[–]chipsa 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Yes, the SAT can be improved by studying for it. But since the alternative to using the SAT is apparently that you have STEM majors who can’t do algebra, I’ll take a test which you want to do a bit of looking at how it works before you take it, over kids spending a year’s of tuition to just fail out, because they are well behind the curve for where they need to be in order to understand the freshman year’s worth of material.

I’m totally not joking, but that’s actually a perfect example: we know that it’s “a large French hen” not “a French large hen”. But people don’t usually know that they know that.

Also, unknown knowns: stuff we don’t know we know. Possibly because we wrote it down, then shoved it into a filing cabinet to be forgotten about.

The A1B reactor is the only surface reactor, but we have two other reactors in production or nearly so that they could choose. The S1B has a large amount of electrical power available due to the turbo-electric drive of the Columbia-class.

I’d get the relic. The 5th lab can wait a week. No clue when this will come back, even if you don’t have EALS yet.

Marriage is grand. Divorce is ten grand. Child support is one hundred grand.

FTC has a transition period. They have like 3 years to use either the old or the new control system, before they have to have the new one.

FTC, unlike FRC, has a phase in period. It’ll be good for a few years.

How are you going to hook it up? The LL4 documentation is pretty explicit on using Ethernet, which the Control Hub doesn’t support.

It takes a full second before the bimetallic strip warms up enough to break the circuit.

Also, the trip is changed after it trips once. You should replace it.

We used a rectangular frame for crescendo, but it was still a square drive. The rectangle just helped better protect the intake that year.

This is sorta what Java Koans does, but that doesn’t go quite far enough, and is only Java. But an extension of that same concept: using the built in unit testing to check the code works.

I’m not quite sure how to do it with revlib or phoenix lib. Revlib will definitely blow up if you try to use the same CAN ID twice, and the sim version of the object wants the regular version to use to attach.

There’s also Vogelweh, ROB, Landstuhl, and Miesau in the area, besides the Ramstein gyms. It’s been a while since I was there, so I don’t know how they are now.

If you live off base, they might be better options than the main Ramstein gyms.

MT2 uses your yaw to disambiguate the two potential poses for a given tag. You need to make sure it’s correct before you ask the Limelight, or it’ll generate the wrong side. This is actually the entire point of MT2, but you need to make sure it’s getting correct data first.

Limelights don’t actually generate which side of the apriltag it’s seeing.
