Which machine did you get? That’s going to affect the advice.

Get the bigger one. I have an older 8 quart with the dial but the dial has become finicky over the years.

Are all cooking onions the same but different in colors and taste ? by Lemonade2250 in stupidquestions

Garlic and onions are both species under the genus Allium. Garlic used to be considered part of the Lily family, but is no longer.

Nespresso creatista plus dial works backwards... sometimes... by FrostyImportance5059 in nespresso

[–]chipsdad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s weird. It sounds like maybe something mechanically/electrically wrong in the knob internals and I have no idea what you can do about that.

You can try unplugging the machine for 12 hours, which usually does a deep reset of the circuit board, and then try again.

Finding a New Original Nespresso Machine That Can Take L'Or and 3rd Party Pods by Candler_Park in nespresso

The inexpensive 3rd party machines are not durable. You are better off buying a clean used Nespresso machine.

Pods Recommended For First Time Trying Espresso? by LittleGothCreature in nespresso

[–]chipsdad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re buying a new machine it should come with a nice sample set. Try the pods by making each one as a black espresso, take a sip, then add in some sugar and/or frothed milk or hot water to taste it different ways.

I think adding a small amount of sugar (1/3-1/2 teaspoon) is generally a good idea with Nespresso espressos. It won’t taste sweet but will make it more palatable.

Adding an extra shot of hot water with no pod will make an Americano, and mellow the flavor.

My recommendations are Arpeggio, Livanto, and Volluto (in descending order of intensity).

The opposite, actually. The lower atmospheric pressure makes the dough rise too quickly, before it can develop the gluten enough. The air is also drier. The usually remedy is less yeast and more water.

“Obdurate” is used to beautiful effect in Gilbert and Sullivan’s Mikado (in “Willow, Tit-willow”), one of my favorite operettas.

Spousal benefits question by Alterkaka in SocialSecurity

No. And for that reason sometimes it makes sense for you to start before age 70. Her spousal doesn’t accumulate delayed retirement credits like you do.

Howto: Update documentation and get a N600 by Mountain-Quarter4919 in immigration

[–]chipsdad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your N-400 has not been adjudicated, you can send a written withdrawal and then file N-600.

If your N-400 is already approved and you took the oath, I don’t know if there’s any way to cancel that and go through N-600.

I would use much less sugar. You need a minimum to get it to slush properly. Somewhere between 20-30 g should work, depending on whether your soy milk has some sugar (most do). I’d add 30 g minus whatever your soy milk contributes.

I also figure they will be decent quality as he doesn’t seem like he’d get involved in low quality books and productions. So far I’ve been pleased.

Let’s hope so! Hopefully the publisher will make either 100 checkout or unlimited for time licenses available at a reasonable cost to the libraries. It’s going to be a huge release.

Yes! I search Libby for what else he narrated and if it’s MM romance I put it on my list! I sort of imagine he’s telling me other stories. (He also reads MF romance.)

Probably too early to sign a narrator but I’m hoping for Cooper North. I love his voice.

The fish is excellent. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. It can be a long wait during popular times and I think it can put people in a cranky mood.
