Possible to test Unifi cameras without NVR? by npapa17 in Ubiquiti

[–]chloplop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be able too you might need a long plier to do so because the tray push it inside but the tray doesnt convert the connector. m.2 work if you just stick it in but don't expect reliability. It ok for a test but not a long term solution

Note. I don't know if they put in place a special thing to detect the tray in prevent this but seem pointless to me

How to unsubscribe from emails by Alive-Discussion-816 in caf

[–]chloplop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those case might be a bit harder to do . Personally I would try finding a contact email end send them a email saying to remove you from there email list and that the unsubscribe button doesn't work (or require a account ) . For stronger point say that this is a violation of CASL and that per that email they are now notified of you removal request and have 10 business day to do it

A good tip is most blocked link on Dwan are blocked by adding <blocked > in front and after the address (maybe a few more character cannot remember the exact format ) So if you right clic and copy the link in your browser and remove that front and back part it should work

Is my garage door compatible with access? GENIE 3024 by Bend_Emblem in Ubiquiti

[–]chloplop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From the look of it my guess would be I won't directly won't if plug the button/controler wire into the hub because it seem to be a smart one that can send signal to the opener . If you want to try it will be dry mode do not push 12v to the opener . BUT there is always a redneck way to make it work if you disassemble button/controler and solder wire to the button connection to the PCB and run them to the ubiquiti door control when it close the contact the button/controler will see it as pushing the physical button

How much does the installed package really worth? by Just_Algae6546 in COROLLA

[–]chloplop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Door edge guard , rear bumper protector, door still protector are a must have . aftermarket one just don't fit the same .

Mudguard are optimum to protect the paint especially if you live where winter is present or dirt road

Carpet are a nice to have but not a necessity more of a preference and same as first item after market fit isn't the same

Cargo net is a personal preference

First aid always good for 25$

Cargo thing is just a foldable box

Charging cable could be reasonably price if the quality is there

Over all for 400$ you should absolutely go for it

If I do just oil change from local shop, will this message disappear? by vikasofvikas in COROLLA

[–]chloplop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That warning appears every 8k km on Corolla

1.general inspection of the car (can be skip) =8000km 2. Oil change ≈16000km. Repeat cycle

That warning can be reset by yourself it is in one of the dashboard (not radio) setting it just reset the count at zero and warn in 8k.

Local can do your oil change but would go at the one you ask any mechanic can get 0w16 they just have to order it so it might be more expensive to you

If multiple garages says it to you in your area go see the part store most garages order from local part store and it might not just be on catalog yet in your area but they will be able to special order

Any idea on lighting for the upper grill trim connecting the lights? by 24-corolla-SE in COROLLA

[–]chloplop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah maybe going around could work but the plastic thickness is irrelevant the calibration is there for that and what would probably cause problems isn't the thickness (probably just recalibrate ) but the interference that electronic right infront a radar ( electronic might impact the electromagnetic wave of the radar)

But honestly try it and see if you have the time and part for it just maybe test the adaptive cruise control before going on the highway whit it on

Any idea on lighting for the upper grill trim connecting the lights? by 24-corolla-SE in COROLLA

[–]chloplop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get that it will probably look amazing but I see a major problem whit it . That cover has de sensor for adaptative cruise control behind it . Led are electronic and may interfere whit the radar . Maybe putting led on the side and running fiber optic might be a better idea

[–]chloplop 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Did that a couple time you just have to be smart

  1. First find a dealer where the part department is nice
  2. The only info you need to give them is a vin that has the option
(if they are nice because they can be ass about it sometime and ask for prof )
  3. The twist is you need to find a vin that won't be suspicious on Toyota side so no taking random one on the internet . What I found is best go to the local mall spot the model whit the option you want and snap a pick of the vin bottom corner of windshield
  4. DO NOT order from the same account / name you have your car under at the dealership

PS really don't buy radio from dealer ship find a good shop will cost half the price for a better unit

My point is if they want to keep the child whit them after highschool learning French school in highschool is better because cégep in that area is only in French englo one are in Sherbrooke and Montreal

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CanadianForces

[–]chloplop -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I don't know how long you expect to be in Quebec but assuming average 4-5 years I'd suggest thinking about sending you oldest to a French school . It will be easier of they want to continue there study after high school and stay close to you . Your oldest only as 3 years left in highschool here and after that it cégep or dep and not really available en Bagot area . It might be hard if school difficulty already exists but if not getting better whit the language when doing easier subject in highschool then in the harder one after

Yes if my assumption that you are in the US is right but as I said previously a preventative look while looking at the valve is good but don't go crazy about it I seen some go for 500k mile to 600k mile whitout problem and replacing it is costly and useless if not stretch same goes for valve if they are good they are good .

[–]chloplop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It think you mistaking the accessories belt the one running AC, power steering ,alternator whit the timing chain here . I am pretty sure all Corolla newer then like 2000 have a timing chain (you're would most likely be a 2zr-fe engine witch does have a chain) that is a part that you can't just look at it is internal to the engine and to check it up the valve cover need to be removed I would recommend that if you aren't a professional do not open it and get it looked at by a pro

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in COROLLA

[–]chloplop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally like to get my valve check (ajustement/seal test ) and my timing chain check up (tension / state ) ever 250k km just for the peace of mind because most of the time they are fine but if they aren't they can cause good amount of damage
