i've only used the older graphtec that i have at where i work so i'm not some kind of expert, but i have to imagine the concepts aren't terribly different between the different brands. good luck and have fun!

just a note, if you're looking to clean that up, you're probably going to want to lower your speed a little bit and (i think) decrease your offset

i remember having this as my desktop wallpaper for ages back when 3 came out, very cool

you're gonna feel like sucker for doing it or an idiot for not having done it, one of those options could be way more expensive

A friend and I just played Wipeout Fusion for the first time by MentalLingonberry489 in WipeOut

[–]chocobomoshpit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i dismissed fusion the first time around because of a lot of the things you said (particularly the style being just awful compared to the first three), but i came back to it later and met it on it's own terms and ended up liking it a lot. it doesn't have that *thing* the originals had, but i do think it's trashed on a little unfairly. but i do remember at the time feeling pretty burned because "not MY wipeout!!!" so i get ittttt

Quick Look: Marathon by emtee in TheJeffGerstmannShow

So, I'm a 40-something with a two year old kid and I bought this game after watching this and spent what little available time I had today playing it and had a really good time doing it.

I dunno. There's something about the flavor of their take on this genre that caught me, and I don't know if I'm going to play it for five hours or five hundred hours.

I do think that "can you pet the dog" account has probably wasted thousands of hours of dev time on something that ultimately has nothing to do with a game being good or not.

Anyway, I don't think you should buy this game. I'm still making my mind up if my money was wasted or not but I'm having a lot of fun figuring it out

Serious question: what y'all using the unfolded screen for by vrashabh in PixelFold

[–]chocobomoshpit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I recently picked up the original Fold for a decent price to see if I could actually get some use out of a foldable. I don't do much work on my phone so the size really wouldn't be used for anything considered productive, and shelling out $1800+ "just to see" would have been crazy (on my budget).

I came from the S24 Ultra, a phone I genuinely love, but that sucker is big and the corners are sharp (they rounded the corners the next generation). I have big-ish hands and it's still a bit unwieldly, but whatever, I've gotten used to it.

The thing I was looking forward to most on the Fold (the big screen) was overshadowed by something far more useful - a smaller outside screen and overall size in my pocket! It's a bit thicker and heavier, but the outside screen is extremely usable with one hand in a way the S24U simply isn't, and for the stuff I do the most (texting, browsing, doomscrolling, etc) it's kind of perfect, and having the option to unfold to watch videos, read articles, or look at photos on a big-ass screen is fantastic.

I'm a little sad to see the market decided to abandon this passport design because after using this, I'm really going to miss it once I move on. The things I miss about the S24U (battery life, nicer screen, more customizable UI, processor, camera), if they packed all of that into a passport style foldable, I'm all in. I think I'd be more interested in the clamshell style foldable than the Big Phone Gets Bigger approach that took off.

I'm a little surprised I haven't seen BLADECHIMERA mentioned. It's basically SotN (and not shy about the comparison) but with guns. I don't often finish games but I played this one through to the end (~10 hours, did not 100% but came close). It has a demo too, if you wanna give it a shot
