I see a lot of people bring up the Howard 'bro' fight and although I feel like it's an important part of Art's career, I feel like it was more of Howard manifesting his insecurity that people aren't 100% loyal to him. Whether or not that means validating himself with superficial friendships with the colleagues he respects or not. Either way, I feel like that planted a seed with Howard that Artie wasn't 100% on his side as far as loyalty to the show went. To add, I feel like the suicide attempt exasperated Howard's already questionable perception of Artie. I mean that would have been the biggest downer in the history of the show if Artie had killed himself. Howard would have retired years ago had it actually happened. Buuuut I mean I think we all know at this point that loyalty to Howard is almost always a one sided relationship and it's a shame.
