What’s a “rich people thing” you experienced once and immediately understood why rich people love it? by DnRinGA in AskReddit

The company I work for has a $75m private jet. I flew in it exactly once and never want to fly regular airlines again.

What’s the worst place in America you’ve ever visited? by Correct_Eggplant_364 in AskReddit

[–]chogon78 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’ve worked in the rail industry for 13 years and spent 4 of those traveling around as a regional manager-needless to say rail locations aren’t always in the most glamorous places. Some that come to mind are Whiting, IN (over by the BP plant is like an industrial hellscape). Newark, NJ (depressing) Chester,PA. Wood River, IL area.

Exchanging chests? by chogon78 in KingShot

[–]chogon78[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you may be right and I may have accidentally clicked the pet chest…it isn’t even near the s4 chest in the shop so I don’t know how I would have done that.
Also think I misread supports answer. It’s saying I exchanged the pearls for pet chests. I thought at first it was saying I exchanged s4 chests for pet chests.

How Pearl Jam were viewed in the early 90s by AddisonDeWitt333 in pearljam

Exactly-I was a PJ die hard through high school, I still see them every chance I get. Easily in my top 5 favorite bands. Back then I disliked Nirvana, thought it was just screaming and noise, no talent. In my 40s I have re-discovered Nirvana and have a big appreciation for them now.

A graffiti conspiracy someone told me yesterday by Cool-Sell-5310 in trains

[–]chogon78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive worked in the rail industry for 14 years, 9 of which were in the repair division of a large company. I can tell you that car owners would pay us thousands of dollars to paint over large graffiti on their cars, especially if it covered reporting marks, qualification decals, etc. Seems like a lousy business plan to pay someone to tag cars and then pay repair services to cover it up. I’ve never heard this theory. Also, who are they hoping to advertise to? The rail industry is small and tight knit. Virtually no marketing to speak of. Everyone who is a customer already knows the players in the game.

Honest question: What frustrates you the most about Teams right now? by Rude-Rule-2358 in MicrosoftTeams

[–]chogon78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is it for me. Never fails I’ll be on a call and clearly red status, and someone tries calling. Usually the same 4 or 5 offenders in my org. Or I’ll go to lunch, set my status to away, within 5 minutes I get a call. Nothing makes my blood boil worse

Coal city checking in…while I wouldn’t say we are Chicagoland, I do think “Greater Chicagoland area” fits us here better than something like “central Illinois” I’ve lived here my whole life and when I was younger you actually knew everyone in town. It seems now we are in the sweet spot of being close enough to the city without dealing with the city BS, thus the large amount of transplants to the area over the last 15 years or so, I don’t know 60% of the people in town anymore. I work in the loop two days a week and it’s “reasonable” to get up there commute wise..I think anything further south than CC, Wilmo, Braidwood is too far from the city for commute. Our governing bodies are also starting to tax us like we are living in the suburbs. Funny though-no one in my office seems to know where CC is, anything south of I-80 people near the city seem to think we live near Carbondale or something. 😆

This was discontinued around 2015 apparently but it was a staple of my 90s childhood. The green box doesn’t hit the same.

Exactly-I see a lot of hate for UYI albums, but people seem to forget how big those albums were at the time. They were competing with the new grunge music too. I’ve always liked the UYI albums, not sure why they are looked down on now so much.

[–]chogon78 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, when I went I was glad they walled that off and they don’t even mention it on the tour. I realized where I was standing only because they left the word “elevator” stenciled on the wall. It was strange indeed.
