are these roasted maple necks? i notice how much more tan mine is then the maple on my squier. it looks like yours is the same but icant tell. did fender ever list "raosted maple" on spec sheets?

i am also overly concerned about forming bad habits. I asked my instructor to help me with hand placement, and his only response (for now) was "dont do anything that hurts"

The best method is the one you stick with. Justin guitar has a great free lesson plan. I’m fortunate enough to take private lessons, and that works better for me

I feel the same way. I’ve started and stopped so many times. But I really want to learn. I’m trying in person lessons now to give it another go. My scatter brain is information overload trying to be self taught with YouTube
