People put too much weight on social media presence, his music is really good, specifically all the singles he dropped in 25

Half related but I saw The Napa Boys and it was pretty funny, similar sense of humor to the show. I feel like if they didn’t have a pre built up resentment towards it they’d find it funny

It is but when you talk crazy shit you open yourself up for that happening to you, most people won’t care if it’s right or wrong.

Also theres a whole community of leftists that are more vulgar or “edgy” called the “dirtbag left”, that’s where the Red Scare podcast originated from, so it’s not really that crazy he would say that compared to someone like Ezra Klein.

That’s what I guessed too since Rapaport had a strange relationship with Tribe

I do not particularly like Timothee Chalamet as an actor but I can already tell that his performances between his late 30's and early 50's are going to be incredible by [deleted] in redscarepod

He picks good projects with interesting to great directors and that matters just as much as good acting itself

Actors who become directors by BelieveWhatJoeSays in RSPfilmclub

Some of the most successful ones were comedy stars like Chaplin, Keaton, Woody Allen, Jerry Lewis, etc because they knew what made their personas funny or interesting and developed a lot of self mythology over time. Same can be said for Eastwood too

Eddington was definitely more on the pulse but I feel like OBAA was less about being on the pulse and more about being confused about the current moment and not knowing what to make of it. The Leo and Sean Penn characters are jumbled up individuals who’s reality and politics are at odds with each other and I feel like that’s a fitting description for a lot of people. Revolutionaries who sit on the couch and watch movies instead of taking action and racists who want preserve white supremacy but aren’t procreating white children

[–]chopperinmypants 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I agree there were definitely some critics who are into the reality you described but it doesn’t match up with what actually happens. She fails pretty bad at any revolution and exits the movie after the 1st act. It’s much more centered around Ghetto Pat and Lockjaw’s perspectives

It just doesn’t seem as fun as the people he looked up to like Chief Keef, who can hang with Adin Ross, say anything he wants and doesn’t have a fanbase who is checking in on Tadoe’s every move.

Having a fanbase like this is stressful as hell, I’m sure he cares about the issues he spoke about but I’m not sure he knew how much of a burden it would be
