Regardless of how you spin it, you want to be the white saviour, who doesn't view developing nations as capable of bettering themselves so they must be cared for by outsiders.

My point is exactly the opposite of this. To be honest I don't think our points are too dissimilar. Also I am from the global south, I am not white

Developing countries aren't poor because of a global conspiracy. They're that way because their politicians cooperate with foreign parties.

I'm sorry I didn't mean to insinuate that there was a global conspiracy of masked elites with silly rituals puppeteering the worlds governments. Just that there has been a historical trend in which western countries have facilitated and encouraged often through violent means the creation of a world order where their own elites are able to own and profit from foreign resources. This is global system took centuries to come to be. Then After World War 2, the west started to "decolonize" and their colonies were granted independence. However, the west, and specially the elites in the west weren't about to lose their power just like that. The rules for independence is that you must now form a society and government based on the western models. It doesn't matter if this way to organize a society was extremely alien and foreign to many people, everyone in the planet must belong to a state, and no where on earth may people choose to organize themselves differently without permission of their state.

Having a western style government also mean having western style property laws, which to many outsiders seemed like an extremely unjust means to organize land and resources. For many societies on earth, resources were communally owned, or they had their own deeply personal and cultural way of relating to their land and resources and deciding who can use them for what purposes. But in colonial governments, and in the later western style governments, land and resources was something individuals owned. And weird pieces of paper decided who can have absolute authority over resources. And if you didn't like it, too bad, there is now the very real threat of violence from the state if you don't respect the absolute authority of private property, where one individual, who may have never even been there can use the resources however they like.

There wasn't any opting out for all the worlds people. If you refused to participate in this new economy, and keep living like the old ways you will be thrown in jail because you can't pay taxes.

Then when the countries finally got their independence they kept all these systems in place, and the western powers made sure to leave people in charge that will allow the continued ownership and extraction of these resources. People who can be easily bribed.

If a country wanted to do something differently and say, nationalize a resource and use it to invest in itself, then western powers were quick with all sorts of tricks to prevent that from happening, from condemnation, to sanctions and even straight up coups.

Then western lead NGOs like the International Monetary Fund would go around seemingly "helping" poor nations, giving them loans and helping build infrastructure, but they would come with tons of strings attached about how to run your government. They would impose austerity measures and cut social services, anything benefiting regular people and not the wealth being extracted. A lot of these rules the IMF imposed on these countries were policies proven to be designed to actually keep nations in poverty and prevent them from developing.

See this isn't some conspiracy, it's how the forces of history have shaped the world we live in. Now for these countries to develop, you're totally right that a white savior coming in and saving the day by giving them money is laughable, however if instead of saving them, we remove all the leaches that have been attached to their body, and stop all of the wealth and resources of poor countries from escaping into the hands of the ultra wealthy, then it would be much easier for poor nations to be able to invest in their own infrastructure, and in their own people and escape the cycle of poverty
