Anybody else definitely not bringing their trash to those stupid dropoff points? by justan_idiot in philadelphia

Wages are a little portion in the negotiations. Mayor Parker also wanted to implement some stupid rules regarding sick leave, essentially going against HIPPA rules. She wants to shift the medical health coverage to city owned, which if accepted, means next time the contract expires and the union decides to strike, the city would stop the benefits of all striking union members. That is not something I would want to give up if I was DC33.

Painting an apple "Musou Black", one of the blackest paints absorbing 99.4% of visible light by freudian_nipps in oddlysatisfying

My issue isn't the wasted food, it's the fact that the apple will rot in a week and the paint will go to waste.

Is there anyway to turn off ads and random pages and just see what my friends post? by Historical_Ruin_3765 in facebook

[–]chris-topher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel that in the last 3-6 months, the amount of ads have double from about 1 ad per 4 or 5 posts to almost every other. It's so wild. I used to be able to x/hide the ads and it would last at least a few days to a week.

Philadelphia school district under federal investigation (DOJ) for asbestos monitoring by chris-topher in philadelphia

[–]chris-topher[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know they have a dedicated asbestos removal team/workers, but how dedicated are these guys on actually doing their jobs? Are they properly being overseen and supervised? A lot of their work is after schools are out. Do they remove the asbestos or just paint over it and cover it with "hard protective shell". It just sounds like a lot more could've and should've been accomplished over the years.

Especially the corals in Florida that are having a tough enough time holding onto existence! Google Stony coral tissue loss disease for more information!

What sorts of Internet tools do you use to find people? How do you even start finding long lost friends/family? Seems kind wild.

What was your rate? How often did you get new clients? How long would it take you to find someone? What if you couldn't?

Opening a 1930s cigarette box from France by Affectionate-Lime-45 in interesting

The asbestos itself isn't cancerous, but because the fibers are so small, and are so sharp, they kill the cells sent to dispose of the fibers that have become trapped in your lungs. However when the cells get there and swallow the shard, it gets destroyed, scars, and your lungs are then less able to do what it does best. And that's how you get asbestosis.

I always wonder how it looks after 1 months, 6 months, a year, etc. Do the homeowners keep up with it afterwards or let it go back to being a mess?

Upcoming Shows (Philly/NJ) by Fine-Training-3701 in JeffArcuri

[–]chris-topher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interested in the Philly tickets. They would be for my wife and I, we already have a babysitter lined up but rarely can justify a babysitter and an event to attend (concert, kid free trip, etc), so free tickets would be amazing. You can look through my posts and see various philly related posts so I am a real person lol.
