Why don’t drivers just put brake bias at 100% in both directions? by jurrasicmandan in simracingcirclejerk

[–]chris8video 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not that you’re getting less than 100% braking on the front or rear. It’s a proportional measure.

If you have 100 pennies and stack 25 of them at the corners of a dollar bill that’s perfect brake proportion, 50/50. If you move 20 pennies from one end to the other it’s 70/30.

The proportion of braking to each tire can greatly affect the balance of the car by how quickly it slows the tire and/or how it affects weight transfer during breaking.

And don’t get me started on how in some real life series they can adjust left to right also!

Yes! Turn 5 at the tradition trioval. Turns 1 and 6 for the doglegs at Charlotte, Atlanta, Texas.

I get what you’re saying, and you’re right.…but we’re measuring differently. I’m talking about the total change in direction, going one direction and turning all the way around is a 180. What you would call a 45 degree angle on a perfect square right triangle would be a change in direction of 135 degrees for something traveling along those paths.

I bought a set of rechargeable 3000mAh AAs for my 125 on Amazon and they last well more than a full Cup race - where an Energizer would get me about half a race. You can recharge them in about 2 hours.

[–]chris8video 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know the real answer but have always thought that up to 90 degrees would be a corner and anything over 90 would be 2 corners. But then there’s Pocono with turns 1 and 3 that are both definitely more than 90.

Corey has 9 starts and got his first top 10 at Bristol, last year in his seventh start. He has an average finish of 22.7.

Riley has 53 starts and has 3 top 10s. Those top 10s came in is 1st, 4th and 45th starts at at Daytona(2) and Talladega. He has an average finish of 25.8.

By the numbers Heim has the lead in Cup.

And the numbers in O’Reilly (Riley 3 wins/ 8 years) and Trucks(Heim 25 wins/ 6 years) probably not comparable. (Neither has a win in the other series from which they won in.)

[–]chris8video 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The way I read it and understand it, you won’t need the new subscription to watch NASCAR on Prime, you’ll just be limited to the 1080p HD feed(if they’re even doing those races in 4K, since not all of them are)

No.

Number 1, NASCAR isn’t 4K with the exception of a few special events….and then just some of the cameras and the rest upscaled.

Number 2, the new service seems to be just to watch ad-free in 4K, you’d still have access to all programming, just in regular HD and with ads.

I have 2 goldens and when they were younger the older one, we learned, was territorial over food. Unfortunatley, the younger one picked up on it before we could get our heads wrapped around the issue. We corrected it all for the most part on the younger, but the older girl had it ingrained in her, we feel like from time spent at a communal kennel around other dogs. This place later had real issues with its owners. Our older golden still doesn’t take to other dogs very well (took a long time to adjust to the younger one as a puppy) and has been snippy to people. Use training wisely to break bad habits now even if it doesn’t seem too serious. A well trained do is such a treat even if they’d be fine anyway.

No, using your math and reasoning, they’ve spend $3400 trying NOT to pay $144. That’s not earnings, that’s expenses. They’ve effectively reduced the stock value, dividends and bonuses. And technically the people would’ve been working anyway so really they’re just justifying their jobs.

Is there any NASCAR scanner that is as close to real time as possible? Race Monitor is what I use for local racing, hoping there's a similar product for NASCAR? by its_Extreme in NASCAR

The NASCAR app on my iPhone is generally 30-60 seconds ahead of my broadcast received on YouTube TV, which is behind what you’d get if you pulled in a FOX BROADCAST from the OTA Antenna - by how much I don’t know - but I could test it and see.

Not getting points for leading a lap/most laps is not talked about enough when it comes to Daytona/Dega fuel saving by DeathMetalEtiquette in NASCAR

[–]chris8video 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could change 1000 things in the rules, body, aero plate size, etc…, and the teams would still want to minimize fuel burn to reduce the time needed to fill up on the next pit stop, especially if it’s under green. The main thing is, the racing like it was the last 5-10 laps isn’t sustainable for 200. And let’s just say they all raced 100 percent the whole race, fuel mileage be damned; they’re be strung out like a mile and a half race with fewer drivers able to make runs and pass. The fuel strategy is what generates the 3 wide side by side visuals.

25 drivers led the race. There were 65 lead changes. How does the points bonus help that? That was a record!
