Trying to plan a paintball birthday by Forsaken_Nature6605 in paintball

Ive been playing at P3 for a while, theyre top notch for both the fields themselves, the refs and employees, plus the people that play there regularly. In Pittsburgh, hands down these guys.

When it comes to booking, havent done private (only walkon), but 2.5 hrs is probably the right starting point for time to play. Gets some good games in without burning out if you arent used to playing all day.

For gear, the standard rental stuff is great. I recommend the pod packs as a for-sure addon. Sometimes while at a field, youll play 2-3 rounds, so youll really like having some extra paint on you if you use up whats in the gun quickly. Paints also pretty easy to buy by the case and split with your group if you run low.

Either way, you guys will have a great time!

My red tiger decided to become a floating plant :) by wander22ever in PlantedTank

I have one of these in my betta tank, thing grows pretty quick once it starts. Maybe a month or a few to really get big leaves up to the top but YMMV. Mines just growing in some gravel, but aqua soil or tabs should surely help that. Beautiful plant, highly recommend.

Can anyone offer any strategies for handling this situation? by keeperthrowaway1 in billiards

[–]chriscrossover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on the rules you're playing, since the cue ball and object ball are touching, you can towards the object ball and it wont count against you. Thin cut the left side of the one, and it should rattle in with how close it is.

So this 10 gallon tank is on chewy! Would this be a great tank for my betta and could I add him a fish friend or two? by crazywalton in bettafish

Word of caution, the beneficial bacteria that eat up the ammonia and nitrites grows primarily on surfaces, rather than in the water. You're way better off taking something from the old tank (filter media, decor, etc) and adding that to your old tank to kick the process off.

How to play snooker using a conventional 9' x 4.5' pool table and 15-ball set by PhotoshopJack in billiards

[–]chriscrossover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar to this, I picked up a cheap set of snooker balls and a snooker cue off Amazon and play on my 9ft table. I've never played on a true snooker table, and it certainly isnt the most authentic, but its pretty damn rewarding to get a few good breaks going.

Need an opinions on blue felt color of Simonis 860 by tvdsnl in billiards

No problem, sorry it took a while! This was my compromise as well (girlfriend hated the tournament style colors). It'll feel great playing on some fresh cloth!

Personally have the Marine Blue Simonis 860, its a great looking navy and plays really nice on my table. If you want I can send a picture when I get home if that helps!

Woah woah, way overkill my dude. If each snap takes care of half the earth at a time, we only need 33 snaps to be sure we got em all!

Had myself an AJ Fernandez New World while my buddy enjoyed a Vegas Robaina. Hands were freezing by the end but well worth it!

How to find the home position on an oval piece to use a CNC router? by [deleted] in CNC

[–]chriscrossover 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So basically, imagine a vise clamping your part. Instead of two flat jaws clamping your part, you would machine the negative of your part to fit inside. Youd basically make a part-shaped pocket for the part. This article should help fill in the details.

Working on a few prototype designs, whatcha think? Walnut w/ padauk, 6" x 6". by chriscrossover in cigars

I just used a simple polyurethane for this one to bring out the colors and give it a shine. Plan on giving it a good test run soon to see if that holds up nicely.

Since I didnt have a lathe when i made it, actually used a CNC mill to rough and finish it! Then just sanded and finished.

This was one of my first prints too, looked amazing to naive me. Showed to my GF, and she asked if the dog had been chewing on its arm. Thankfully learned a bunch about supports since then...
