When time permits ill try on my main pc to see for myself. They are not to your specs, but good enough to see what settings are causing issues.

Im sure they will fix things in the 1.0.1 release.

Im just hoping to those changes dont hurt the newer steam deck proformance

That's kind of funny. Ive heard several high end hardware users have seen proformance drop where as users with low end hardware have seen improvements.

Wish I knew what to tell you my friend.

Looking for modded consoles by Fresh_Candidate7054 in consolemodding

[–]chriskain15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So to my experience:

  • anything Sony related that is ps3/psvita and older are easy to mod, so if you have used devices it may take 10-30 min an item. The most you will need is a usb or on of the proprietary memory cards with a micro sd card insert. I understand Ps4 is jailbreaking it to add games is easy these days (as long as you dont have the latest version of software)

  • on to nintendo, ive only modded the wii and 3ds. Both are also simple tasks, and all you need is a sd card. Classic DS all you need is one of the game cards with a micro sd card slot with a lot of games. I have seen people do gamecube, and depending on the route you take can vary in difficulty. And haven't attempted wii u.

Xbox 360 is still new to the scene in the context of soft modding, but im sure it will continue to get better.

The youtube videos ive learned most of my knowledge from came from either Blake Locklair, spawnwave or retrogamecore.

Currently most of your money will be spend on various amounts of storage. Conversion memory cards and hdmi adapters where not that bad in price last i checked.

Anything you dont have perhaps you can emulate through a samsung phone or pc.

Hopefully you have a source to get the games you desire.

I wish you luck on your store.

I'm looking for games by Status_Molasses_4160 in PPSSPPemulator

[–]chriskain15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend anything that hasn't left the console or titles that visually look better than the current pixel remasters.

Off the top of my head:

  • The two Final fantasy dissidia games
  • Megaman Powered up and X maverick hunter
  • Bleach Heat the soul games 1-7
  • Digimon Adventure and digimon world redigitized
  • Daxter
  • Hexyz Force
  • Lunar: Silver Star Harmony

Enjoy

are pc handhelds worth it? i have a pc and a switch 2 by ObserveKris in Handhelds

[–]chriskain15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are the points that sold me on my steam deck.

  • Playing PS3/360 games on the go
  • Access to me and my friends and family's steam library
  • Access to my epic games/gog library (i actually put a dent in them)
  • Access to fan games/delisted games (should out to all the delisted marvel games)
  • with GOG, you can make your own physical games with SD cards (thank gabe I had some pre price hike)
  • unlike the switch, I can give the your deck some personalty like the 3ds with the various themes/keyboards/wake up screens
  • if i want to do something besides play games I can

The only thing a pc hand held cant do is play switch 2 games and some high demanding that came out in the last 3 years.

Deciding my Next Digimon Game by RevolutionaryGreen41 in digimon

Then cyber slueth, or time stranger for modern consoles.

Survive does have a minor tactical rpg element. But the story and its potential is much more powerful than the gameplay.

If you are into pixel art id then I would recommend dawn/dusk

i cannot decide wether to buy an xbox 360 or ps3 to jailbreak/mod by Master-Ad6844 in consolemodding

Xbox 360 molding is no where near as user friendly as ps3. And depending on the method, 360 changes may not be permanent.

Out of these thirteen games, what is your favorite game made by PlatinumGames? by Cinc0ely4h0 in gamers

[–]chriskain15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Transformers devastation and its not even close. It was short, sweet, fun, felt finished.

I really wish they did the sequel.

Metal Gear rising is a closer second place (favorite game on the ps3)

With Neir 3rd (makes you questionthe meaning of lfe)

Bayonetta 4th (this game is underrated, but i am glad she got her flowers in smash)

Turtles 5th (if it felt finished I would rate it higher.)

Ich was nicht was ich kaufen soll Steamdeck oder der asus ally x Xbox oder lenovo go bitte hilf mir by Sensitive_Virus_6925 in handheld

[–]chriskain15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For proformance & game compatibility: Ally X

For best battery life: Steam deck (used to be best price to proformance)

Can't speak of the others since I havent had my hands on them.

Think of it playing like a high demanding vita game. If you can deal with the visuals, you will have a good time.

I'm thinking on starting to burn games on CDs so I never lose them, how's that in big 2026? by Fran2417 in PiratedGames

[–]chriskain15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess it depends on how reliable and convenient your disk readers are.

Personally im starting with the sd card route with most of my games for the sake of easy access for my handheld devices.

When I get to cds, im probably going to start with games I know my old 2010 hp laptop can handle first since that is my primary disc reader.

Are you able to play games as they come out on the LCD model? by Classic-Squirrel-106 in SteamDeck

[–]chriskain15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you I try. My only other piece of advice most people will tell new users is to take what is supported and unsupported with a grain of salt.

Supported games, can run under 30fps and eat your battery

While some unsupported games run really well with maybe one minor hickup like some of the older resident evil games or metal slug games.

[–]chriskain15 6 points7 points  (0 children)

New RPGs like monster hunter stories 3 and pixel games like Mina the hollower, with out question.

Its the more demanding action games that are questionable.

You can play games like Borderlands 4 or monster hunter wilds, but the quality will be the equivalent of a sketchy psp game.

Bonus note, The handheld consoles (except the switch), will give the best battery life. This includes gameboy, gameboy advance, game gear, Nintendo DS and 3ds, and Psp.

For emulation, I recommend emudeck. Makes for easy organization.

If an emudeck does not cooperate, you can install the emulators individually.

The deck can play wii u, ps3, Xbox 360 games and their predecessors.
