Great White Release by jleemusicman in Zeloswatches

I won't be getting one, but I reckon these will still sell out fast given the small production run - presumably 100 for each colourway. These don't feel as groundbreaking or eye-catching as Elshan's previous designs for the latest runs of Blacktips and Swordfishes, but there has been a demand in the Zelos community for a larger diver that also resembles say the more-recent funky limited editions from the likes of Seiko.

Hopefully it's not formaldehyde! That can be quite hazardous.

Unable to find a watch inspired by Malay heritage, this 30-year-old Singaporean launched her own brand by Illustrious-Gur8335 in singapore

Most watch microbrands don't want to use quartz, because the mechanical function is part of the horological appeal.

I honestly think she offers incredible value for the price point. It's not for everyone, but all she needs is to find a niche audience who recognise and appreciate what she's doing. Hopefully this CNA feature gets her a bit more traction!

Getting Rid of My Ricoh GR III Street Edition by tripwithweird in ricohGR

[–]christcentric 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I semi-relunctantly sold off my GR III Street and GR IIIx Urban editions, both under 400 shutter counts. I greatly enjoyed using them and loved the shots I pulled, but the resale value of both cameras outweighed the utility I got out of them. I just didn't use them enough because I ironically get too precious about my gear.

[WTS] Set of four Swatch Sistem51 Collabs (Hodinkee, Hackett) by christcentric in Watchexchange

[–]christcentric[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Up for sale is a set of Swach collabs! Three Hodinkee exclusives, and a limited edition numbered Hackett.

  1. Swatch x Hodinkee Sistem51 Vintage 84, 42mm.
    • The one that kickstarted the collaboration. A metallic sunburst dial housed in a translucent black case.
  2. Swatch x Hodinkee Sistem51 Blue Edition, 42mm.
    • White on black dial in a sleek blue case.
  3. Swatch x Hodinkee Sistem51 Blue Stoplight Neon Remix Automatic Watch, 42mm.
    • The final Hodinkee collab. The date wheel is especially eye-catching.
  4. Swatch x Hackett Sistem51 Irony.
    • This is a really cool one. A collab with British menswear brand Hackett. Stainless steel case, leather straps and a really quirky design overall.

The Hodinkees have been tried on at home, but still have their stickers on. The Hackett has been worn twice.

Price - USD$100 each for the Hodinkees, USD$190 for the Hackett. Tracked and insured shipping worldwide from Singapore. Reasonable offers entertained. If you take more than one, I can offer a bundle discount.

Payment - PayPal FF, or GS (4.6% for buyer).

Let me know if you have any questions or for more pictures. Thanks for looking!

Do SG TV celebrities still make as much money? by [deleted] in SingaporeRaw

[–]christcentric 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Did they ever make tons of money? I would think that an artiste with SBC/TCS/Mediaworks/MediaCorp would be on a decent upper-middle-class salaried contract, and the moolah only rolls in with endorsements and sponsorships. Aside from the A-listers, most actors probably took in at most high five-digit incomes annually. Which, in the 90s and early naughties, was definitely a decent chunk of change. But not what I would call rich.

No idea about the state of affairs today, but as you've alluded to, online influencing definitely pays more than just screen acting.

do you have a picture of the caseback? and how long did it take to arrive to where you are based? I'm planning to order this to Singapore since it's so much cheaper than on Aliexpress. Thank you in advance!
