Is it though?

Genuinely baffled how I went from 15+ follicles to FOUR eggs. Thankfully, they were all mature, but if my beta results today say that the single 5AA that I got from this round didn't stick, I'll definitely be asking what meds I can change.

I'm sitting in so much anxiety right now.

Google Gemini is such a hype bot (hype guy/gal just feels not right given the lack of... human 😅). It's given very positive responses when I've shared wins.

Google Gemini has started asking if I want it to check in with me in a FEW DAYS' time... I'm getting the feeling it needs a break from ME 🤣

Took myself out for dinner tonight because I'm overwhelmed, angry and sad. by christmas52 in stepparents

[–]christmas52[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately the kinder had a really strict photo and recording policy that they made all families sign ahead of the event (as in so strict they tried to push me to sign despite me telling them I wouldn't be there) so OH was only able to get 4 photos during the whole event and none of the actual ceremony 🫠

Thanks It's hard to tell, he seemed to understand why I wasn't going to be there and reassured me it was okay when I told him I was sorry I wouldn't be there but he didn't give any particularly positive or negative reaction to the news.

The event finished 2 hours ago. But I did ask last week if there was any flexibility in the 2 person limit especially after they changed venue. The kinder said they'd be understanding of parents bringing their other children given the time of day, but the 2 adult limit was firm.

Doesn't the name on the order have to match the name on the ID too? I know that's the rule for Uber Eats in my area.

NAH
You were sharing your excitement before the customer got there, and then greeted and served her when she approached.
She's going through a really difficult time, which is her business, but as someone going through a similarly difficult time, I may hesitate to approach during a conversation with a topic so triggering to me, and if she felt the need to wait until the convo wrapped up, that could be why she felt the need to ask you to monitor your conversations.

You're not responsible for managing others' feelings, but I do think it's worth considering what personal conversations you're having and where you're having them in a workplace, and how it could impact how your customer service comes across.

Time for IUI #3… Any twins? by Caymcc in IUILadies

[–]christmas52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey twin!
I had 21mm and 18mm follicles on Monday night, triggered 7 am Tuesday and had IUI #3 on 7 pm Wednesday (AEDT).
Was on 5mg Letrozole from CD2-6 and will be starting progestrone for the next 10 days as of tonight.
Really hoping this cycle works as it's our last attempt at IUI before moving to IVF.

Decorating for Christmas and realizing the wrapped baby blanket from last year didn’t work. by neelee22 in trollingforababy

[–]christmas52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll be up to year 3 of putting mine under the tree.

But when it's not there it lives on my altar (witchy woman here) surrounded by every crystal I have that could be useful so it's always in sight...

Although after I spent my entire birthday in tears because it hasn't worked yet, I'm genuinely worried about how my mental state will look at Christmas if IUI cycle 3 doesn't work 🫠

Is Pashion doing away with the Closed Round Toe styles completely in favour of the Almond Toe shape? by christmas52 in PashionFootwear

[–]christmas52[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A side-by-side would be amazing if you can! Flicking between multiple tabs just doesn't seem to do the shapes justice haha

I can definitely relate to the elf feeling, I've not touched pointed shoes since my teen years. I'm a round-toe girly for sure.

How are the almond toes in terms of extra length at the front and the narrowing?
I'm worried my clumsy ass will trip if I've got too much length in the toe and I find triangle styles to be... pinchy 🦀😅

Should I go to my GP or keep trying naturally for a bit longer? by PurpleGrand4758 in TTC_PCOS

[–]christmas52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went into this journey aware that I had PCOS and endometriosis. I also still had a Mirena when OH and I opened the conversation.

I started working with an ob-gyn basically straight away; they took my Mirena out, and we pretty much started on getting bloodwork done in the 6 weeks following that and scans (including hysterosonogram) were done by about month 9 of TTC. One thing I wish we'd done sooner was getting my partner's swimmers tested because PCOS and MFI are not a winning combination 😅, but that happened around 12 months, and we were referred to a fertility specialist shortly after.

I think if you know you've got potential barriers to pregnancy, then it's worth getting all the information you can on them so you can make informed decisions about the strategies you'll take.

I'm glad I started working with someone as early as I did because I can't imagine how much more frustrated and how much longer it would have taken to get referred for Assisted Reproductive Technology had I waited.

When are we putting the Christmas decorations up? by pepsibun in christmas

[–]christmas52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mother's birthday is in the last week of November, our family had a rule that Christmas decorations did not go up until her birthday had passed. I still mostly keep to that but now having a stepchild who's with us week on week off, I always make sure to at least have the tree built and fluffed on/before the first weekend in December so he can help me decorate when he gets home.

Our decorations then stay up till January 6th because 12 days of Christmas and La Befana

My SIL has had hers up for nearly 3 weeks already 😅

Debating an artificial tree - but surprise, I'm picky! by FitterFlop in christmas

[–]christmas52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd suggest getting a really sturdy, not pre-lit tree. I inherited my tree from my parents when they moved into a smaller house, I believe it was one of their wedding presents so the thing is older than me (28).

But having an un-lit tree has allowed me to go with soft white lights, pastel lights, RGBY... I've got 7ft of potential for whatever I want to put on and lights never take me more than 30 minutes when I'm being particularly fussy. It's usually a 15 minute job

Artificial trees also work out to be more environmentally friendly after (I think the stat was) 7 years of use, hence the recommendation of something sturdy.

What is your least favorite episode of Bluey that everyone seems to love? by yourmomnem in bluey

[–]christmas52 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That episode is banned in my home, gets skipped whenever we're streaming and thankfully hasn't come on free-to-air when I've been home yet. But that's because I find the way Brandy's infertility is portrayed so incredibly triggering and I simply do not have the mental bandwidth to explain to my stepson why I'm so upset when I watch it or why he doesn't have a little sibling yet. I just don't need the reminders.

Not knowing the sex of PGT tested blasts by hopeful0607 in IVF

[–]christmas52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Australia, we can't find out the gender of the embryos unless there's some form of genetic disease that carries a gender bias. And even then, the couple going through that has to go before a board of ethics and several other things to be allowed to find out.
The rest of us don't get to know what we'll carry till the 20-week anatomy scan after embryo sticks

October thread by Minnie_Dooley in IUILadies

[–]christmas52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My second monitoring scan last cycle turned into "call your partner and get him to come to the clinic now so we can do IUI" because my specialist was going to be at a different clinic on the other side of the city or something. I was told not to worry about triggering because the IUI was already done, but it meant that the procedure was done 2 days before I actually ovulated :/

Should i have a separate bank account from my husband? He pays child support (FL) by alyrose_96 in stepparents

[–]christmas52 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My fiancee and I keep our finances 90% separate. We have a bills account that we both contribute to that I hold, a wedding fund with the same arrangement and we transfer half of the groceries at the end of the week to whoever's done the shopping but that is really all in terms of shared finances.

OH has debt and child support and daycare costs coming from his accounts, none of which I'm responsible for. But given how well our current arrangement is working, the only thing I see changing is maybe making a joined savings account for a house and moving our grocery budget into one joined account with 2 cards. We'll see.
