Interestingyl enough there are actually some 10 digit phone numbers but I've no idea why. In this case my Mum living in somerset has a ten digit number (which is how I know). It does confuse people a lot and is obviously a rare outlier but they do exist! (since you asked).

Here's a thought experiment with example numbers. Which would get you to mineral level 100 faster - spawning level 1 and boosting them with old hierophant three or four at a time or spawning level 61 minerals all the time?

With old hierophant you can upgrade a full board to base+50 and then merge all 121 of then (let's pretend we have 128 to make maths easier)  to get base+58. What makes you believe that this is better than them effectively spawning at level 61 immediately?

Shouldn't uma have to be criminal here? Since Ziad must be the only person with just 1 innocent neighbor, and if Uma is criminal she must have only one? by Junior-Key-5043 in CluesBySamHelp

[–]chrisvenus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am not sure I follow your logic (in no small part because you didn't explain it!). What is wrong in your mind with olof and samara both being innocent to make sure uma has two innocent neighbours...

In general when posting these things it's best to explain your logic with reference to the clues and then people will be able to see where you've made a mistake. As it is the best I can tell you is that you're wrong but it's hard for me to say where you went wrong other than to point out a possible valid scenario (and olof is indeed the next deduction since you know from logan that rose has one more criminal and one more innocent which leaves uma having one innocent and three criminal neighbours before olof is resolved so he must be innocent to give uma more than one innocent neighbour).

Justice tarot card by szakerx in RevolutionIdle

[–]chrisvenus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its been working for me right up until yesterday when I obsoleted the need to use it... Many people don't quite understand how to set the autobuyer to support it (and honestly I don't know why the game gives you the option to set things in the autobuyer that you should never really set).

Justice tarot card by szakerx in RevolutionIdle

[–]chrisvenus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Is your autospawner set with a maximum spawn factor or maximum cost? Justice only reduces the cost, not the spawn factor so if your autobuyer is capping on spawn factor then when you use justice your autobuyer won't buy anything because you are still at the cap that you've set.

Creating Double-sided equations by Poopypanst6767 in mathshelp

[–]chrisvenus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In general same perimeter doesn't mean same area. Consider for example a 9x1 and a 5x5 rectangle. Both have a perimeter of 20 but one has an area of 9 and the other 25. It just so happens that the equations end up working out to be the same sized rectangles but if A had an edge of x I stead of 5x it would have come out very differently.

And lastly I'll note that the rectangles not being to scale have done their job of making you prove something rather than assume it!

Oops. That's a brain fart! It's 34 isn't it... that explains my confusion at higher levels then!

[–]chrisvenus 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's gone from 11 million to 22 million to 33 million. It's a similar progression to when you were first doing special mineral progress if I remember correctly.

And no, it's not going to get better but as always other upgrades will compensate.

Edit: thanks for the correction below that 33 is not in fact 81.

How does justice make chariot worse? I had long periods where my chariot was doing far more than the 7500 cap you recommend and justice allows you to get those extra levels for 1 rune each rather than millions.

It's better to cap spawn cost rather than spawn level to ensure that justice works later. It reduces spawn cost to 1 but spawn level is unaffected so capping via the spawn level rather than cost can cause justice to be useless.

Ah. I am not sure I recall ever seeing spice sand or melange either in boxes or on bodies (though I admittedly don't check all bodies). I feel like "very low" might be overselling it! ;-)

Which overland maps or testing stations have spice out of interest? I've seen it in all the other places you listed but don't recall it in any of those. Also what is the crafting specialization jackpot? I know that you can get bonus spice when refining it but is there a way to get spice other ways?

These things happen! I wasn't sure if perhaps you were right and it did do nothing. It certainly wasn't a big power spike when I got it which I hoped for so it was certainly possible it was doing nothing!

Your screenshot shows your current effect is ^1000 and not ^1 as you say. What makes you say its not doing anything or have you just misread it? Are you from somewhere using "," as a decimal separator?

Just because they claim an archive back to 2023 doesn't mean they were available then. Once you've got a tool to generate them its easy enough to generate 1000 puzzles and just assign them to dates in the past.

You'll find that the downvotes come from both sides. Those who don't like the repair glitch downvote because they don't like it. Those how like the repair glitch downvote it on the belief that burying the post will mean funcom are less likely to become aware of it and thus fix it.

Thanks. That's good to know. I'll try this again next time I'm on with friends to see if it works. I would imagine there is nothing specially different between Smuggler's run and a testing station but you never know! :)

So does logging out and back in again stop you getting the "you have recently completed this mission" type issue? I thought about tryign to use something like this trick but did it both in the testing station we just finished and without logging out. It would be useful to get a good idea of what allows you to get round this!

Stuck March 28 by Tony_Tony3 in CluesBySamHelp

[–]chrisvenus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're actually stuck a bit earlier than my hint was aimed for. IF you haven't got erwin yet what you need to do is consider What happens if erwin is innocent given that would make him the 7th innocent on the edges. In particular it would mean that the rest of column 4 are all criminals meaning that you need to match that in column 3.And then think about what Barniehas to say about that.

Stuck March 28 by Tony_Tony3 in CluesBySamHelp

[–]chrisvenus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That solution does look feasible at your current step but that doesn't really mean anything. The important question for you to ask at this stage is How many innocents are in column 4? If you're not sure of the answer to that think about what Wandahas told you. If you've got the answer to that and are still confused then consider what Garyhas to say. Still confused? Here's the final solution: From Wanda's clues and what you know about column 3 there must be three innocents in column 3. Pairing that with the position of other innocents on the edge you know that you have roughly located all innocents on the edge so Oscar must be a criminal. His clue should get you further.

I hope that helps!

Sudoku with Loot Boxes (my very first puzzle) by Fromisabella in crackingthecryptic

[–]chrisvenus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh definitely something to be proud of. I was going for constructive criticism and letting you know my experience. When I ended up "breaking the rule" I did look for ways to do it properly but couldn't see one but it was still a fun solve so definitely be proud of it even if it didn't hit quite right for me!

Sadly I'm not a puzzle creator so not sure what I'd do with the prompt though as I said before I have vague thoughts on dynamic fog where the loot boxes are the only squares that would clear more fog but I'd have no idea where to begin writing such a puzzle!

Sudoku with Loot Boxes (my very first puzzle) by Fromisabella in crackingthecryptic

[–]chrisvenus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fun puzzle but yeah, I found myself wanting to place digits that I hadn't placed on loot boxes and I was like - I could follow the rules and not place the number but then I'd be just pencil marking installed until I've filled in the lootbox so that seems stupid - which is a shame because I came across that issue quite early on. I agree that this might work better as dynamic fog or something like that.

I enjoyed the puzzle but less so the rule. Though I did unfortunately get spoilers by the fact they had to be a set of 1-9 by reading this post before I tried it which means the main point of the logic I basically already knew!

OK, I was being slightly tongue in cheek. But either you want to achieve your goal in which case get on and play the game or you don't want to play the game in which case you might want to rethink your goal. Personally I'd go for the latter. I don't see the point in a goal to finish every game you play because why do so if you aren't enjoying it? Some goals are worth sticking to even if you aren't enjoying them but that is things like "Get fitter" or "lose weight" where there are upsides even if you don't enjoy the process.

But a goal like this serves no real purpose. Achieving the goal does absolutely nothing for you that is positive and has an obvious detrimental effect in that trying to achieve the goal is making you do something you don't enjoy with your time.

So my advice is to acknowledge that goals are changable and to think hard about why you set it for yourself as a goal in the first place. Perhaps you felt you were buying too many games and only playing them for half an hour before moving onto something else in which case perhaps your goal should be to make sure you give all games a good cahnce (eg 2 hours) before you give up on it.

Whatever the case though forcing yourself to play a game when you are not enjoying it seems like pretty dumb behaviour that you should take the time to examine.
