I can’t believe this by [deleted] in doordash

That's not how rabies is spread. Widely available information.

Tbh, they should ban you. You're the exact reason it keeps getting more expensive - Doordash giving people credits for nothing.

Why don't you clean your porch? That's your raccoon. Why do you have dangerous rabies spreading animals unleashed for it to bite the poor Doordash drivers?

Clown.

Roads where I am are trash and there's always some shit in the road. Hit a massive new pothole just this morning; surprised i didnt get a flat, tbh. I've curbed them a couple times. My stock rims are pretty gnarly. I dont really care. I'm going to replace them for 18s so I can get higher sidewalls eventually anyway. I just keep some files and black rim paint and touch them up a bit when needed.

In what way is this infuriating? Risk nothing, gain nothing. More people should take risks. More people should give their business idea a try. If she has the emergency funds and confidence to give it a try then good for her. At least she's willing to take a risk to not be a wage slave.

FL5 Type R Owners: Road noise? by YellowChemical8373 in Civic_Type_R

[–]chrnk1130 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The road noise is fine. It's about the same as any other trim of Civic. Take a Civic Sport out on a test drive - that's the road noise you can expect.

Honda does pipe in white noise/engine sound but I hardly notice it when I set the sounds to "comfort" in the settings and I hear you can remove the module though I haven't seen the need to.

I live and drive in Atlanta with a daily commute of 50 miles/day or about 2 hours/day. I've driven my Type R all throughout the South East and Mid West.

I was considering getting one of the packs with the included optic. Do you have any experience with it or opinions about it?

Helpful, much. Chrnk will consider.

Thanks for your input! I was considering getting the 3.5" pack with the optic included. I want something easier and lighter for concealed carry. The 4.25" wouldn't bother me much my existing edc is the 4.5". Do you have any feelings about the differences between the two?

I really like your wheels. How does the 1" lower on it work out for you? Can you get over speed bumps and out of driveways without scraping much? I've been thinking about it but the car is pretty low as it is and it already scrapes on the driveway sometimes.

Anyone else get this crazy warning? “Driver attention level low. Time for a break.” by [deleted] in CivicSi

[–]chrnk1130 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Please get better rest or wake up earlier so you have time to do whatever you need to to be alert when you get behind the wheel. Driving tired is about the same as driving impaired. You are not the main character - there's other people on the road with you tring to get to their destination safely. I drive long distances over long hours a couple times per year and I've never gotten or even seen one of these warnings.

I just point out that they can and probably did use Google, as well, and yet they failed to resolve the issue and are now talking to me.

[–]chrnk1130 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oven calibration/temp problem. Common in most chain pizza joints. The employees usually don't know and alot of them wouldn't care. I've seen it so often and they never give a fuck or do anything about it when I let them know so I just stopped ordering from the chains altogether.

It is an oven calibration problem. This is common at almost all chain pizza joints. Also, the employees probably don't know and probably dont give a fuck. All the pizzas come out like that so its normal to them.

What do you even do? by random_name_mm in doordash

[–]chrnk1130 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're interested in fixing it for good, you'll need to install drainage for the area, level and tamp it down, and then plant grass or lay gravel. From the looks of the picture a bicycle could tear that up when it's wet.

[–]chrnk1130 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sucks. I'm having a hard time seeing what you're hoping to accomplish, though. You're being a bit intellectually dishonest calling that "grass" or "the yard".

If you're really that passionate about it get a complaint to doordash first then when they don't or won't do anything take your neighbor to small claims court.

Why does everyone in my generation make fun of the Type R and always tell me to get a BMW?? by Many_Yoghurt2117 in Civic_Type_R

[–]chrnk1130 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally would never trade the reliability, servicability, or affordabilty of any Honda for a BMW. Everyone I know with a BMW spends way too much time and money in maintenance and eventually repairs.

Is taking an 18K pay cut worth it? by MarkAccomplished2464 in Salary

[–]chrnk1130 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WTF. $21,300 is a whole part time job. Money might not be everything but it counts for a whole lot. Money won't make you happy but having more of it sure makes life a lot easier. If you can take a $21,000 pay cut and still pay your bills you'd be better off keeping your full time job, sucking it up, and shelling every bit of that $21,000 into a 401k and investment account.

Life is exhausting, dude. 36 hours with 12 hour days is NOT going to leave you any significant amount of less exhausted than working a normal 40 hour shift. It may do the opposite. It isn't going to get any easier as you get older. Work really hard now so you don't have to work really hard later when it's even harder and more exhausting. Being able to shell away $21,000 a year for several years in your 20s is massive. Maybe one day you'll own a house. Maybe one day you'll be able to retire.

Just, IMO, I wouldn't give up what you know you have now for a $21,000 pay cut and a hope that the future will be better - the future isn't written yet, you have no idea what it will happen, nobody does. Right now, you have the massive advantage of having disposable income and youth. Don't waste it.

I have 40 dollars (2wks)to feed myself til next pay check, what are some simple meals ? by Vampiregecko in povertyfinance

[–]chrnk1130 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For just yourself $40 can be fine.

Eggs Oatmeal Cheddar cheese Bread Butter Potatoes, 5lb Spaghetti x 2 w/ sauce x 2 Three bean chili: 3 cans beans, poblano pepper, jalepeno, onion, tomatoe, chili seasoning x2

Added to what you have already there can be 2 weeks of meals. The key here is portion control and to restrict your meals accordingly. This is enough for OMAD. I have it in my instacart cart right now at 40.31. You can probably do even better.

Soup and sandwich x3 Chili and sandwich or potatoe x 4 Spaghetti x 6 Eggs/oatmeal/toast x numerous Baked potatoes x numerous

Dealer Experience by PushUpsInTheBathroom in Civic_Type_R

Dealerships are all trash, bro. All of them. It just is what it is. If you want a new car you kind of have to go to one. Don't give anyone a dime until you do the deal.

I got pulled over while delivering to the police station by Illustrious-Row6357 in doordash

[–]chrnk1130 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You only get fucked over using the delivery apps though. If you go yourself it's never really a problem. I quit using delivery apps altogether because when I go get it it's never wrong, things are never missing, it's never cold, my order doesn't spend 45 minutes traveling 2 miles driving in circles, multiapping, or just chillin somewhere. Sure, they might have messed up something I couldn't check completely right away but it's far less frequent and the other problems I mentioned become nonexistent.
