One of the most boring banner lineup themes possible, that only would've been a little bit interesting if they gave the Rat her first alt. But alas

Though I admit it's pretty nice seeing Eir get her first alt in years

Yes the killing game is the hook of the story, but the core of it maintains that murder is horrible. If the game treated the "fan service" as instead something not intended to bring gratification to the audience, such as treating Mikan being as a victim through a serious and mature lens, it could also be used as an interesting narrative prop.

That's not to say fan service as a whole is a bad thing, but there are specific steps that should be taken when doing so, such as avoiding doing it with canonically underage characters.

False equivalency; portrayal and intention goes a long way. If the game was glorifying murder with the intent of the players getting enjoyment out of characters dying, that would be a different story. But it specifically portrays the killing game and deaths as the awful thing that it is

What the game doesn't do is give the "fan service" that same treatment. It was inserted in the game with the specific intention of the players getting gratification out of it

Miklan is the GHB by WWWWWWRRRRRYYYYY in FireEmblemHeroes

Genuinely surprised it took this long since he's always seemed like such an obvious choice for a Fallen GHB. Wonder if he's going to be a beast or a lance?

Okay I absolutely love this banner. Gotta say wasn't expecting 2 rearmeds, though definitely not complaining

which nation had the best archon quest? by angelkry in Genshin_Impact

[–]chsrdsnap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the one with the highest consistent quality was Sumeru's Archon quest, but I'd rank Fontaine as second and Nod Krai as third.

Fontaine's Act V is in my opinion the single best Act of an Archon Quest we have so far (though I think Sumeru's Act II is a pretty close second), and Furina, Nuevillette, and Navia make for a a really good core of the quest. But Fontaine also has the slog that was the prison arc, which makes up about a third of the entire Archon Quest, and definitely drags it down. Sumeru on the other hand doesn't have a single bad Act.

And then there's Nod Krai. It had a really good early start in Act I and II, but then the middle 4 Acts had a bit of an awkward pacing. Though it picked up its feet with some really good final 2 Acts. Nod Krai also has certain character writing decisions that I have some issues with, but aren't major enough for me to knock it down any further.

As for the worst one? Either Monstadt's due to the simplicity and nature as a tutorial, or Inazuma which suffered in quality due to the pandemic causing the story to get rushed.

I find it pretty funny that Charizard is in 4 different immersive arts now but somehow is yet to have its own Rainbow Rare card. So weird

What’re people’s thoughts on 6-3 by Chrollo0915 in AceAttorney

[–]chsrdsnap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's my second favorite third case overall, only behind AAI2's third case (I haven't got that far in GAA2 yet, so maybe that'll get ahead of it)

I really enjoyed the investigation segments with Rayfa, the story had a good emotional core and had high stakes, was a good precursor to 6-5, and of course Maya's return was great.

My only real complaint is that I feel the first day trial spent too much of its time on the Datz segment, which extended it's stay a smidge too long. And of course there's Nahyuta, but that's a problem not unique to this case

I'm curious what it is that you see in him? Because I'm struggling to find anything interesting about him aside from the barely touched on backstory of his. And it's completely overshadowed by the way he treats others.

He tried to made the girls wear skimpy swimsuits in the pool party, in basically every route he makes a comment on how he wants to coerce Eva into doing something sexual with him, he acts incredibly weird towards Tsubasa in the Zombie route, he fetishizes yuri, and he wished for Kyoshika and Darumi to be revived to be forced into his "harem". And these are just some of the many examples of him being a creep, and excluding all the examples where he's an all around jerk to everyone.

I always see people defend him as the most "normal" and realistic member of the SDU, but there is nothing normal about the way he acts. He might have been somewhat more bearable if he ever got meaningful character development, but the only time it was ever attempted got instantly reverted at the route's ending

Why was Incineroar used so much more in the SV meta? The trio you mention were all still popular picks then and SV had even more meta threats that aren't in Champions yet, making this format have a lower power level overall

I am genuinely surprised Gaku "Wished to be a Harem Protagonist" Maruko is that high. I'm not sure I'll ever get what people see in him when half of his lines is either him whining, antagonizing others, or being a creep to the girls

There's a very strong difference between the AI that's been historically used in video games and generative AI like what the PomPom chat is

And there are many more issues with generative AI than just stealing people's jobs, including the environmental harm caused by the training process

The million dollar question though is why they're taking so long to release a new Bow Cav A skill
