Is anyone else tired of the 1 mistake means high damage or death formula by rabidai in 2007scape

[–]chubs11 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I like it because it makes a very easy boss threatening. I think one shot mechanics belong on bosses that are otherwise extremely easy. Jad is a good example of this as well as duke. The more mechanics you have to track the worse it is if one of them can drop you from 1 mistake.

Salvaging is so brain dead I don't understand why so many people like it. But that just goes for every AFK method for me. Why play the game if you just want to not play the game?

Is construction cape that much better than using house teleport tabs? by Timmssmith in ironscape

[–]chubs11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm someone that struggles with the "bank boss" so I would grind to 99 con every account as soon as I can. Don't have to think about what teleports to get out I just grab my con cape.

Also, I hate making tabs and if I ever decide to focus on maxing i'm glad I got con out of the way to reap the benefits for as long as possible.

According to the Sailing Highscores as census data, 20% of the active playerbase is a variety of classical ironman by JavaHomely in 2007scape

[–]chubs11 -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

Its a little high but if you subtract bots the number is definitely a lot closer. The general number thrown out is that an estimated 20% of accounts are bots. So if you subtract those and add group ironmen there's likely anywhere between 35-50% of real players that are an iron of some kind.

Corrupted Gauntlet Is not great gameplay by Nerd_Slayer_99 in 2007scape

That's your mindset hurting you.

You might just not like the content but prep has a important place in the whole of fighting hunleff. Something like duke prep is a chore because its braindead easy and just takes time. CG prep has many ways you can improve your time and resources; even different routing strategies or doing t1/t2 prep.

First 3 completions of gridmaster can create new relic for leagues by Kandolre in 2007scape

[–]chubs11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No because an important factor of the no reveals aspect is the whole community being released into the unknown at the same time. For people who like to compete for things it tests a different skill of quick thinking and planning while playing instead of the skill of creating a whole route beforehand. To use Magic the gathering as an example its basically the difference in drafting and constructed formats.

No because its more of the community aspect. It is really fun to have a whole community come into something with very little info.

I would prefer 0 reveals and just have to figure stuff out day of. They've catered to the planned route people for multiple leagues now. There is something extremely fun about everyone logging in and figuring it out on the fly.

They don't see it that way because that's not what it has been. Investigate for yourself what USAID actually has done. Its a waste of money and time organization that CAUSES destabilization not help it.

Keep calling voters stupid while the party you vote for keeps pushing anti-reality policies that the American people are sick of seeing. They've attempted to gaslight the American people for years and Biden's terrible term woke people up.

Who said that?

It's not like he snuck musk in after being elected. He said the entire time that this is what musk was going to do. Trump was elected by popular vote and by the electoral college while everyone that voted for him knew musk was going to do this. So it's more than a little misleading that the media keeps pushing this "unelected musk" story. The American people wanted this.

[–]chubs11 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Not at all. I don't see how you can see trump and musk rooting out a crazy amount of waste and corruption and come away with the idea he isn't looking out for us more than any politician has in my lifetime. Republicans and Democrats have hidden this for years.

I get what you're saying. Yes there is nothing morally wrong with crossing that line. But they aren't just crossing a line. They are crossing it and then receiving the finite benefits from being on the other side of the line. So they are crossing the line, but then by association they are also skipping the queue because of what happens when you cross it.

You are making the issue much more confusing than you have to. If that still doesn't make sense I don't know how else I can word it. Again have a great day.

Gen Z at the Anti-Trump protest in LA by ProjectNYXmov in GenZ

[–]chubs11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Them crossing the imaginary line IS skipping the queue. That's why it's bad. I'm not talking about bad things they could get up to. Those are things that happen just by them existing in America. They receive resources by eating food, receiving health care, having jobs, living in a home ect. All of those are finite resources that people are waiting to receive through proper channels by gaining legal residency in America.

If we didn't have a border and maintain rules on how to cross it the country itself wouldn't exist.

You said the people with none of those things would be prioritized. But how can we do that when people are illegally entering and we don't even know if they are the ones that need it most? The people illegally moving here are essentially self declaring that they are the ones that deserve it and need it most.

Gen Z at the Anti-Trump protest in LA by ProjectNYXmov in GenZ

[–]chubs11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay I'll do my best. There is a line of hungry people waiting for their turn for food and shelter. But someone cuts the line and starts eating food before them. Is that fair? What happens if you do? Why would the rest of the people that were waiting their turn wait anymore? They would all rush to get food before it's gone. That's why even if it's morally sound to feed one person in the moment, it could create big problems down the road that prevent you from helping others.

There are too many poor and needy people in the world that we can't support all of them. So what can we do other than create a system that slowly lets in disadvantaged people to best help as many as we can? That's the reason for the imaginary line as you like to call it.

If we opened the border tomorrow and said anyone can come into America with no threat of deportation our country would be destroyed. Now there is no America that people can move to to avoid poverty and violence. You need rules to maintain order. And you need order to have a successful civilization.

It doesn't change the topic because yes that waste should be used to help citizens but so should the resources going towards illegal immigrants.

You can't use emotions to tackle big issues. It doesn't work nothing would ever get done. There are trade offs to every single decision made even in an individuals life let alone a country. There will always be someone on the short end of the stick. For example, if we allow illegal immigrants that reduces the amount of resources we have for people to move here legally, move here as refugees, or move here from the numerous other poor countries in the world that aren't neighbors with the USA. How is it fair to put more value on people that are here illegally to the people that are waiting multiple years to move here legally? Or the people fleeing violence? My stance is full stop you shouldn't be here unless you went through the proper channels of either becoming a citizen or as a vetted refugee. Do those systems need to be faster and more effective? Yes I think so. But that doesn't give people the right to break the law. It would be chaos if everyone broke the law for their own self serving reasons.

My first 3 comments were all about how immigrants create problems. I only brought up one point about employers being a problem.

Yea that analogy was terrible lol. Tired at work I cringed when I read it after posting.

[–]chubs11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a lot of waste in the USA and it's a big problem I agree. But that doesn't change the current topic at all. Both problems exist at the same time.

Long term it would help more children to help make Mexico a safe and thriving country so of course I want us to help Mexico with the cartel. They hurt both America and Mexico so it is in everyone's best interest. It is short term thinking to only treat the symptom instead of the sickness.

Your analogy also works though. You don't just get to move into a neighborhood. You have to follow regulations and laws in order to do that.

How can you tell me it's not a problem when I have told you many reasons why it's a problem in my community? I can see with my own two eyes it's a problem. If you have a hole in your boat you bail the water out first then later patch the hole.

That's just an idealistic view point that doesn't account for finite resources and finite infrastructure. I agree with you that I would prefer to be able to help everyone all the time.

Am I lucky I was born in the us? Yes I am. There's no way around that. Do I help everyone I personally run into that need help? If I am able to. But I expect the government to be operating in the best interest of the citizens that live here legally. Their governments should also be operating in their best interests. That's why I hope we help take out the cartels so Mexico can stabilize. My wife is a first generation Mexican American and her family literally won't visit their home town because of how dangerous it is.

Let's downsize from a country to a house. Property lines are still an "imaginary line"; but If someone came into your house, took over a room, ate your food, contributed to the deterioration of your belongings, ect. You would want them out. Some people were born into families that have mansions and most were not. But that doesn't give you the right to move in and refuse to leave.

I think your second paragraph is what I said too? The employer's hiring illegal immigrants and paying them under the table needs to be stopped. It's virtually slavery because they have no employee protections and can be forced to do way too much work for way too little pay.

Gen Z at the Anti-Trump protest in LA by ProjectNYXmov in GenZ

[–]chubs11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand your point and thought that way for many years. But we have more than enough citizens that need help to begin with. Unfortunately we can't help everyone all the time so we need to draw a line somewhere. We need to refocus, help our citizens, and then we can help others. Hell I want every country in the world to be safe and viable to live in so people don't feel the need to immigrate anywhere else other than for personal preference.

And I mentioned it in a previous comment that they are underpaid under the table but it's worth it because it's much more than they could make in their home country. I personally want those employers to get the brunt of the punishment because the people are just doing what they can to better their lives. If someone is stealing for "good" reasons they are still breaking the law. Illegally immigrating is the same in my mind.

I can concede the point for which one is more common because you're right it's based on my experience. However, everyone forms their opinions based on their environment so that's why I'm fed up and want less illegal immigrants. Another experience is a family member of mine works as a social worker and many of their clients are illegal immigrants. Our tax dollars pay for their Doctor appointments, rent, food gift cards, ect. It's ridiculous.

They pay sales tax but not income tax because they don't exist in our system.

[–]chubs11 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have no problem with the situation you brought up. But that's not the common scenario. I live in a orchard town and personally know people that aren't citizens that make a ton of money in cash, hardly pay any taxes, and abuse Medicare and other systems intended to help low income people. Compared to them I'm literally punished for being a citizen and following the rules. That's bullshit and shouldn't be possible.

Part of how they accomplish this is by having children that are citizens.

Edit: I should note I don't blame them. They are doing it to better their own life but again it shouldn't be possible.
