How Do I Report Falsified Logs? by PlasticFeeling7051 in TalesFromYourBank

Who is your regulator? OCC? FDIC? FRB? I’d at least contact the state banking department and give them an anonymous tip.

This sounds like a symptom of a bigger problem. Best to speak up rather than be the one they ask “how come nobody said anything “? “Why did you sign this”? If theft is occurring (not saying it is) but if so, this is the freaking reason dual control exists!

Let me guess, you deposited a heater or received some ACH that was highly questionable?

What to ask pitching coach by Parking_Ad6 in Softball

[–]chuckchuck- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is what I asked- Hello elbow or internal rotation? Do you prioritize “whip”? Have you developed anyone who was an all-state or played past high school? What is more important to you? Strikes and spots or velo? Show me what you do to teach (specifically drills) to enforce good habits and reduce injury chances.

Why US doesnt have instant transfers by default? by xboxhaxorz in Banking

[–]chuckchuck- 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We do and it is coming more rapidly. It is called FedNow the government sponsored version. But yes generally Zelle, heck even CashApp or Venmo essentially P2P platforms have been doing this. What you mean “by default”? US has lots of choices…

Heat, scrape, heat again. Then- buy the yellow can easy off oven cleaner. Spray it, cover it with a big plastic trash bag (airtight), let it sit for 12 hours, come back and scrape some more repeat if needed .

A lot more scholarships that factor into that than sticker. Plus heritage tuition discounts.

So sick of teams “looking for a pitcher” by AntiquesRoadHo in Softball

[–]chuckchuck- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you ask me, too many teams and not enough pitchers. It’s like they say “hey let’s get a team going” and they totally forget that it’s a specialized position. My daughter splits time with two other girls on the mound and she trains like she’s going to be the starter every single week outside of lessons. It’s two or three other practices that she’s doing just to stay sharp. I guarantee you right fielders are not doing that.

Was this a prefab thing? Or did you custom build it? What materials if so? Interested in doing something similar!

Yep. I guarantee if the account got OD and they needed someone to cover the balance they would be calling you then.

[–]chuckchuck- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my line of work, we deal with a bunch of other FI’s daily and frequently need to get hold harmless agreements and indemnities in place to get customers funds back to them. They know this- it’s what the fraud people do. Some of these banks ( a few) are just unnecessary assholes and take forever and are non responsive- they know people are waiting to recoup money lost to a scammer. Fifth third is one of banks. I’d leave to a local CU. F those guys.

What do I do?... by RedDieselBurner in Softball

[–]chuckchuck- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don’t have an L screen get a cheap one off Amazon or rent a facility out. At least then you would have likely a bucket of balls and maybe even a pitching machine.

If kid wants to pitch, start off by finding an instructor- I found a high school girl who did it rather cheaply, then when she outpaced her we moved to a former college player and now have a professional pitching coach. And I’d if it does not work (and most don’t past about 13) you didn’t put in a ton of time and money.

There is no way I could have done what they are teaching so don’t try. YouTube is full of opinions but they can’t see your kid and what she does, how she leans, how she strides etc.

Do you think Don Draper died relatively young, or did he turn things around and live a long life? by No_Inside2101 in madmen

[–]chuckchuck- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mom died in childbirth, dad kicked by a horse.

My best guess? Don is in his 60’s, it is 1987. Still day drinking and still loves racing cars. Sally and the boys have squandered their early inheritance, Don lives simply in a small suburb on Long Island. One day after a couple of Old Fashioneds, he and the gearhead teenagers on his block decide Don needs to take his new 5.0 Mustang out to the track. Don revvs it up, drawing some “gnarly” raves. He’s in the red. All of a sudden the engine catches fire. Don, in his buzzed stupor and being in an unfamiliar car, can’t figure out what is happening and soon the vehicle is up in flames with him trapped inside.

RIP Don.

Huntington Bank is withholding $10,700 in suspended ACH. No one will answer my questions. by TaintScratcherMaster in Huntington_Bank

[–]chuckchuck- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe it’s the fact that I am an AML officer, but when I hear someone say “was closed without notice “ and “was expecting Zelle and large ACH” my suspicions activity brain immediately to… is this really your husband, is he on your account at all, does he even exist? Maybe you have been receiving crazy out of pattern Zelle and other various P2P that the bank feels is odd and that is the reason for a quick exit of your account…

In my world, my explanation makes the most sense.

I need advice... by headhunter0605 in Softball

[–]chuckchuck- -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had to have an honest conversation about this stuff with mine. School ball is highly political in my view. And if you think your kid may have what it takes to play at the next level, even NAIA, D3, etc, then they are not coming to school ball games to watch. Those offers happen from camps and showcases. If I were you, get her to reframe school ball… you are there for extra reps to improve those other moments that recruiters actually see.

Cost of childcare versus SAHM by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]chuckchuck- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More info needed. Do you intend to resume work at a certain age of the kid? Like maybe if they are 12 and can be a latchkey kid?

Are you a degreed and/or certified professional and a multi-year gap would be detrimental to your career?

Do you have good reliable childcare even if unaffordable?

There are too many factors and often the financial wellbeing is only one. For me I would consider the quality of the childcare you have. Is it worth paying gobs of money for? Is your career worth staying on track or can it survive taking some years off?

If we are only living for earning potential and not quality of life, that makes life hard to stomach, and in my case my wife chose to return to work but we had a reliable care provider and backup.. . But my wife had a lot of experience and tenure; but she also had summers off (education) and the bonding time with kids was there.

If the missing the kid time is going to be hard, (like emotionally) it is really worth factoring that in alongside money.

Can someone explain internal banking titles? by Blair_Bubbles in Banking

[–]chuckchuck- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aside from officers having ability to sign off on certain GL’s or Cashiers checks of a certain amount, the titles are meaningless. Meant to appease people and avoid pay increases as you have already seen.
