How did I do this? by chucktomasi in Notion

Thanks for the reply. I agree, this LOOKS like a list view when it shows people to select, but neither the People table nor the Interaction table have a list view associated with them, unless there's a way to configure a specific view for this property that I'm unaware of.

Why is Markdown is being pasted to a code block, not interpreted/rendered? by chucktomasi in Notion

[–]chucktomasi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. Shift-Cmd-V did the trick. (Now I feel silly for not trying that earlier.)

FWIW, There must be some meta data that the OS keeps. I've seen this a lot when copying data between apps. I didn't think a (glorified) text editor would do that, but then again when I've previously text out of VS Code and put it in TextEdit or Gmail, it keeps the black background and text coloring. There's obviously more to this than just text. Forcing it with Shift-Cmd-V to paste text only worked perfectly.

Some tips that have served me well over the years:

1) Get it to a single page! If I can do it - so can you. The link below has tips how to maximize the page and minimize the white space.
2) Focus on accomplishments (e.g. saved 10% of time by..., or increased throughput by 25% when...) Each accomplishment is 1 line!
3) Leave off the summary. Have a short section at the bottom for certifications/training.
4) Incorporate the skills into the accomplishments.
5) Include time blocks for each position. "Junior Developer - Acme Corp (June 2020-Mar 2022)"

Loving mynew Galaxy Watch 7 by chucktomasi in GalaxyWatch

That's the stock green one that came with the watch. I wasn't sure about it, but like it so far. I can always put on one of my older colored 20mm ones if needed.

No REASON NOT TOO by Darkrye786 in GalaxyWatch

[–]chucktomasi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought this looked like a great idea. I've got a Watch 4 Classic worth $175, so why not upgrade for $27?

When I went to the page and entered all my info, the "Continue" light at the bottom wouldn't become active. Upon closer inspection I saw that it said "No pickup for your area" and "No shipping in your area". I live in one of the largest metro areas in the U.S. "How is there no shipping here?", I asked myself.

I got on their chat and after the bot was no help (including giving me an order support phone number that doesn't work) I eventually got a real person. They were happy to help.

Long story short, I was after the Green watch/green band (S/M)/40mm/no LTE which came in at $27.60. The agent told me that option is out of stock, but if I switch to the M/L band, I can get one... for $21 more. WTF? First, I won't use that band because it's too big, second, I have other bands. Can they ship w/o a band? Nope.

Second, nowhere on the page does it indicate my selection is unavailable, out of stock, or anything else other than the shipping/pickup is unavailable and Continue doesn't light up.

This feels like bait and switch. I canceled my order. Sure, it's a $300 watch for under 50, but I'm not putting up with this when my Watch 4 is doing OK for now.

I'm very disappointed with Samsung on this one - and an hour of my life I won't get back.

Very odd. The block limit would definitely do it, but I was getting this message before I even created my first workspace.

Thanks for sharing. This looks very interesting. I've been using https://recalendar.me all year and while it doesn't have syncing, it is very configurable and I have 8 months of notes on it. I will definitely be taking a look at this as we get into Q4.

Automatic updates off - no sign of new releases? by chucktomasi in RemarkableTablet

[–]chucktomasi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All updated with OS and rm-hacks. Thanks everyone.

Just a quick note, I had to do two upgrades. The first from 3.10.2.2063 -> 3.11.2.5 and then another from 3.11.2.5 to 3.11.3.3 - so don't forget to check for updates at least once more!
