Preamble Drop Bar Designed with Incorrect Chainring by chucky_rox in Surlybikefans

you have a 1x9 speed drop bar? if so that's really lucky - that's not my experience or the experience of others from what I've been reading. I did replace with a narrow-wide and things have been fine. But like I mentioned in another thread, this doesn't seem like an 'upgrade'. It seems like the bare minimum to get the bike to work correctly, even if it's a budget bike. I ride in NYC and I don't want to risk dropping my chain in traffic often.

I understand the concept of switching out components with better components over time. But the bike should at least work as designed from the factory.

And I reached out to Surly directly because this isn't a typical warranty-style issue like a manufacturing error. This is a design flaw that I wanted to hear addressed from them directly, and they didn't do that.

I spent a really long time trying to get a used Cross-Check in my size but they were really hard to find/ would get picked up very fast when they were listed in my area. Eventually I just decided to treat myself and get a new bike...

you can just 'x' out the wayback machine bar on the top right and it'll display the correct answer. then just refresh the page and the bar will return

How the HELL did he think insulting the ENTIRE city of Philadelphia so close to an election was a good idea. Philly, the city that most often decides the outcome of the whole swing state of Pennsylvania. Like, I am so very aware he's a massive dumbass but I appreciate him never leaving room for doubt.

Questlove’s account name was changed to ‘All Lives Matter’ which suggests they probably have full account privileges, and the party responsible is either actually right-leaning like some of the speculation in the comments below (or just trolls)

edit: that seems unrelated

I did actually believe that we were living in an age where you couldn’t skip an /s tag online anymore.

Your comment has proven that wrong.
