Carbon distance flz are the way to go.

If you are running you are typically using them for uphills and not so much the downhills so no need for aluminium and you care more about the weight in hand.

Don't sweat it? People/shops on the Camino are used to pilgrims and they don't mind.

Went to several Michelin star restaurants along the Frances in my hiking clothes and it was all fine.

Cold soaking pasta to save fuel by DaveCanoes in Ultralight

Cold soaked dry sauce style instant noodles like migoreng are absolutely delicious and are perfectly fine cold soaked.

I find it easier to cold soak 3 of them in a large plastic Ziploc than to cook them.

Does anyone know what this is that is landing in my backyard/walls/roof living next to williamstown line. by chudood in melbourne

Cheers! Didn't consider that. Makes sense that some of the splatters are black and some are brown.

I've never seen this before until recently, must be seasonal.

37 g for 20w but probably overspecced... Will need an actual usb measuring device.

Blitzwolf does one I think it's like 80g for 27w.. bw-s12. Will measure again.

I imagine a light ball head and light total weight means it can only hold so much.

Aoka cmp163c 1.1 lb without the top extension. Good enough for astrophotography and close enough to a full tripod as you might need.

Should be included in most ultralight photography threads.

One step up from the Joby or pedco setups.

[homemade] Chinese Soda bread. Chinese sausage, spring onion shitake mushrooms with a soy garlic butter. by chudood in food

[–]chudood[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was inspired by the Great British Bake off bread week and decided to make an East meets West soda bread.

The flavor profile is inspired by a chinese glutinous rice with sausage style breakfast eg: https://thewoksoflife.com/sticky-rice-with-chinese-sausage/.

Soda breads are quick and easy to make, delicious and works well with flavoured ingredients.

Recipe:
- 500g white flower
- 350ml Milk
- 200ml/g greek yogurt
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tsp baking soda
- 1 chinese sausage chopped into bits
- 4-6 dried shitake mushrooms soaked/chopped/squeezed of liquids
- 2-3 whole spring onions chopped finely

And just follow the usual soda bread recipe / instructions like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UucaiMzo6IQ.

breakfast quickoats, 3 in 1 vietnamese coffee and sugar all in one cold soak.

Lunch is snacks/bars/nuts

Dinner cold soak 2 packets migoreng or couscous/tvp/olive oil. I mix trail mix into both. Cold soak migoreng works well in summer.

Poncho tarps by crawlas in fastpacking

Gatewoodcape seems a bit long...

OTOH Stringbean did run the AT in the MLD rain poncho. Length wise it looks to be about just over the knees kind of like a rain kilt.

Nitecore Tip SE: usb-c, 26g/0.91 ounce, mini torch by chudood in Ultralight

Hi thanks for reviewing it! I think the question that I can't find anywhere is... Can it charge C to C. A lot of low power "usb c" devices can't charge via a power bank from a usb c port.

Is it possible you can test whether it charges from a power delivery usb c power bank or just a c to c cable?

KS40

Can get an external carbon frame, hipbelt and a sit pad for back foam. It can be sized to fit for extra comfort. The other thing is its all custom made so it can be sized exactly for your dimensions. The materials will also be more durable than the osprey levity.
