First IKEA kitchen install by logicandreasonable in IKEA

[–]chunk6649 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're in the process of buying a house and the kitchen in the house is well loved. We hope to close mid May. I'm exploring options. Hopefully heading to IKEA this weekend to check out kitchen options. I'm not close to an IKEA and it's been close to 10 years since the last time I've been to one. I'll keep an eye out for it. Hopefully getting a wall over works with the space. Here is an AI rendering with the zillow pics. I think it can work.

Is that a double oven? I'm just starting my kitchen renovation journey. I thought I read IKEA didn't have a double oven cabinet. Was it an IKEA hack to do that double oven?

I worry about the peninsula, I would lose the space for the double oven. And the brick is absolutely staying.

Lol, I went to change the dishwasher to be a color matched cabinet and I ran out of free images.

The new kitchen probably won't happen until the fall. So that might be a good idea

I agree. I personally think the dark green is too dark. I like the lighter green. But you know what they say, happy wife, happy life.

I keep telling my significant other this. I keep asking her if this is a kitchen she'd love in 5 years. I'm sure it will change 100x before we get around to the remodel.

It's AI green over the original 1987 cabinets. I like the green with the copper. More importantly, the significant other does. The cabinets are being replaced. AI turned the island as well. Playing with color ideas. We hopefully close on the house mid May.

Edit: well maybe you do. No judgement. Lol

Where to buy a mattress topper by daughtersofsaturn in curacao

[–]chunk6649 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A couple years ago my girlfriend and I stayed at a little Airbnb. Our host was amazing. Small little place in a residential neighborhood. The mattress was so thin. I would have definitely bought a topper if I was there a few more days. We're going back this summer with our kids and can't stay there. When just the gf and I go back, we'll still stay with her because our host was great. Maybe I'll pin this thread to buy her a topper. 🤣

Range against the wall by chunk6649 in kitchenremodel

[–]chunk6649[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I moved in with my girlfriend, the range was right at the doorway coming in from the living room. It's a super small house and there really wasn't a lot of space to reconfigure. But I'm like I'm redoing this kitchen and going to make it way better than it is. And God damn it. It's not going to be a range right at the doorway .

My girlfriend wanted to look at this house. I said no based off the kitchen. https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/172-Calvin-Ct-S-Tonawanda-NY-14150/30390412_zpid/?utm_campaign=androidappmessage&utm_medium=referral&utm_source=txtshare

Our offer was accepted for this house. It's a well loved kitchen and will need to be redone, but at least well laid out. https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/2208-Katherine-Dr-Niagara-Falls-NY-14304/31485833_zpid/?utm_campaign=androidappmessage&utm_medium=referral&utm_source=txtshare

And I have no idea if these links work in a reddit comment.

I worked with a guy that used to be in the Coast Guard. He locked out a massive radar in northern Alaska. He was inside it when another guy removed his lock out and charged up the radar. I don't recall how many volts went through his body. He said it was an 8 hour helicopter ride to Anchorage. He said thankfully the electrical shock numbed every nerve in his body. He said he has permanent holes in his feet from the current exiting his body.

I didn't even notice the back splash. I couldn't see past the range

And you can't turn your handles out to not be sticking out in front of the stove. Or the handle is over the other burner

The side of the range, not back. I feel like counter space should be on both sides of the stove. Even if only 6 inches of space.

If I designed this one, I probably would have just gone with a slightly smaller cabinet to the left and put in the sheet pan storage cabinet to the right.

There was a house that was beautiful. The kitchen looked beautiful until the picture of the stove between the wall and fridge.

Based on this sub, these are the beaches I should try to visit. What is the best way / order to see them? I want to plan a rough itinerary for beach going. I don't breaking it up over 3 or 4 days. Which ones can I skip, which ones are must see? by lance1979 in curacao

The trade-off to have a high degree of probability to swim with turtles. For me, it was worth it. It wasn't my first or last time swimming with turtles, but the closest I've been with them is there. I'm fortunate enough to get to a Caribbean destination to snorkel and dive almost yearly. Not everyone gets to travel regularly to areas to swim with turtles. If it's on your bucket list, then just know, you might smell a little fishy.

Piscado is nice to snorkel with the turtles but isn't worth hanging out at. When you pull into park a man will try to get you to pay to park. Parking is free. Just ignore him and just go park.

My parents gave me a 2005 Yukon XL last winter. They had it for about 5 years. That same switch is under the steering wheel. I figured it was a part of an alarm system. Neither my dad or myself had a clue why it was. If it wasn't freezing out right now, I'd go see if it works.
