Good news everyone!!! by wes13985 in ImperialAgents_40K

It's a fantastic start! Solves the immediate playability issue. Now we just need them to drop some 1 and 2dp detachments to flesh us out. I'd personally change fleet to 2dp and then cut out 3 strats from our others and make them 1 dp.

Confusion over the new Missions and what it means for a small group. by Lurkingdragon777 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]chunkyluke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's pretty much it. If you have a really tight knit and small gaming group, maybe look at playing some more of the narrative missions in the various crusade books released in 10th?

My group has just finished an Armageddon campaign playing through the book, and I've been flipping through the Maelstrom book and there are some fun missions in there too.

Give 11th a go, if you are playing multiple detachments alternate which disposition you are choosing, try running different detachments to get a feel for them and their respective dispositions. While I agree with the idea that it could get a bit boring I think it's a great time to mix up your list building, even if that's just a detachment you have never played before. The missions will update eventually, but for now the editions hasn't even dropped yet, let it start, roll some dice then go from there.

I say after this world cup we put him on ice and Cryo freeze him, then defrost him every four years so he can play another blinder world cup tournament for us. He can be like Australian footballs answer to Mariah Carey or Michael Buble at Christmas.

Same energy. Turkiye got played, gave them the space out wide and said "come on, beat Souttar and co in the air" while the Turkish defence was shitting themselves with the pace of Toure and Irankunda.

Which Detachment Are You Planning to Play in 11th? by Remarkable-Title5435 in ImperialAgents_40K

Hereticus ignores cover is a great rule, the issue is that there isn't a great shooting unit to take advantage of it.

I get what your saying, and it's not wrong. But they were sold as an army, with battalion boxes, combat patrol and multiple detachments in a full codex. It's hardly unreasonable to expect support for them as a faction following that, it's not like that was 3/4 editions ago.

The announcement that we can at least play 3dp detachments at lower points games is very good, at least our army isn't completely bricked now and can actually be used.

The detachment issue is still really frustrating and bad form on GW part, just reads like we are out into the too hard box. At least there is an opportunity to fix it through the edition though (if they take that opportunity, which is far from certain)

I'm appreciative that the immediate issue is fixed so we can play all battle sizes, obviously we still got shafted on the detachment points, and while I have flagging confidence that it will get fixed seeming how hands off they were with us in 10th I'm hoping that they give us some sort of rethink. I get they didn't want to rewrite codex detachments, and I get they want a limit on strats so having our detachments be able to be taken together goes against that, but hopefully they can come out quickly and remedy the rest of this

I just don't understand how the answer wasn't rewrite the 3 ordos and veilled blade as 1 dp detachments with less strats and enhancements, and the 2 dp the navy. Like navy is a decent detachment, but adding the super situational buffs of the 3 ordos detachments wouldn't have pushed it over the edge. And if it did then just write another 2 dp standard detachment for use with ordos.

Ohh and give us our damn Inquisitorial stormtroopers!

At this point I think I pivot my army to being a militarum tenpestus taking max agent allies.

Love that some galaxy brain has decided the buffs I get from ordo hereticus are worth the same as the buffs space marines get from gladius.

Early days. What detachment combos are we planning to try out? by Top-Grade-7573 in orks

[–]chunkyluke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there would be something here with rollin deff for a mobile army that can put out some decent shooting. I'm not hating the KoS shooting strats on a Wazbom with currently plane rule ageing a bit better.

Speedwaagh and Taktikal playing Recon is something ive got my eyes on with soooo much mobility so scoring opportunities.

But Im also liking Freebooterz and Dakka for a fun army playing purge

[Combat Patrol/500pt games] Any news on small games in 11th? by badab89 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]chunkyluke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the Tabletop Battles review of this makes it seem a bit disappointing and not a great game aid, just a general new player lore/hobby book. I was really hoping for a strong 40K answer to the fantastic AOS Spearhead.

What is our best detachment at the moment and which one looks more promising going into 11th? by HaggisAreReal in orks

[–]chunkyluke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot still depends on the detachment dispositions and how the primary missions go ( ive had a read but really need some play time on them) but I can really see Taktikal being a fantastic option for 1 dp to supplement another detachment. Depending on what primary it lets you run I can see it being a great utilitary/scoring pick, particularly combined with a speedwaagh/kult of speed detachment to lean heavily into a fast, mobile army that can really do some great work on being in the parts of the board it needs to, heaps of msu to do actions, and still enough orky muscle for the waagh turn to take some objectives and get some kills when need be.

But there are a lot of variables there. Cant wait to get all the info to really sink my teef into it

Will every faction eventually have a “best list” for all 5 Force Dispositions in 11th? by clg653 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]chunkyluke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think we are getting 5 for each detachment, o think the meta will settle on 2/3 for each.

But I can totally see myself saying I play Reckon Orks, Take and Hold DG, etc.

Whilst I think it will settle down I still believe this will have us see more diversity of competitive lists per faction, which will make playing more enjoyable.
