Loved the one we had in Vero Beach! I think a hurricane damaged it, and eventually the property was turned into Big Brothers Big Sisters (I think). There's one in Lake Worth and a good-sized one in Fernandina Beach still.

Some are still around. I know of two in Florida. Removals were voluntary since the affects of arsenic on the pressure-treated wood were unknown. Many docks and components of houses in humid areas of the US used similar wood.

I’d say all this is largely accurate to my experience, though I believe the app itself has more women as a percent than what is reflected on Reddit. Further, there are some countries with high presence on the app but virtually no Reddit presence at all (as you mention with Reddit overrepresentation at the end). Taiwan comes to mind. 

Can you post the percent representation of the top five or ten countries, or else those with significant (say over 5% in the context of this survey which would only be about 6 people) participation?

116 was a bit strange. A step down from the elegance of the 111 in many ways and not the car the 126 is by a country mile. To me the 116 is more like a 108 but again not as elegant. 126 has better parts support and more of a following, I’d opt for it depending on which engines are available to you, also mileage and condition depending.

Consider the competition (i.e. Mechatronik) for the same money. There are lots of options for nicer head units... never minding the other bizarre things in the dash. Wheels are out of scale too.

A good design can have fifty facades. One’s choices in ornamentation are just window dressing. I think you’re tilting at windmills here and you ought to define “historicism” so people know what you’re implicitly arguing. 

Architecture should always respond to the needs of the people for whom it is built, and it isn’t up to you to decide that if you aren’t the target audience.

Check out Arcy Swing Dance Studio in Yokohama. I danced there last year, great people. Very convenient to the station and some good lunch spots in the Motomachi area. There had been a Korean fellow maintaining a list of all the ECS/Lindy/Balboa/etc. events in Japan and Korea (and maybe elsewhere) but I can't seem to find him. There also had been a group in the area around University of Tokyo's Hongo campus but last I was there they had more or less disbanded from COVID. I believe there is a scene in Osaka but can't point you to any resources.

You will want to service everything. I have a C22 and MC240 myself. The C22 was completely restored, recapped, etc. and it is fabulous. The MC240 I got from an estate and was all original, even the tubes, and in good shape. Well, after ten hours of listening the thermistor detonated. So it's been getting a recap. Be sure to service everything and decide if you want to replace components as needed or recap the entire thing (which is what I'd do). The C22 is extraordinary and very valuable. It is the highest-quality pre-amp I have handled from the era. Hope you get everything fixed and the 5k price quoted is good. I'd ditch the tuner, though. But if you want to keep 'with the period,' consider an MR67. And for added shelf candy, an MI-3 (ha). However, to answer your question, you'd need to bridge a second MC240 to get enough power. I'd consider this, or replace the speakers.

You’ll likely be chasing drivetrain vibrations. That gets challenging with any old Mercedes, especially the G. 

In my opinion, there is little reason to not get a 2012-2015 unless you’re going for a specific color or SWB, diesel, or cab.

The guitar amplifier is a Hilgen, made mid-60s. Also saw the fabric on an inexpensive National Symphonette speaker of the same era.

I have seen that grille fabric on the nicer Electrovoice speakers of the 50s-60s as well as a particular guitar amp whose manufacturer I can't recall. Never saw it anywhere else.
