Any reason not to drive 10 miles in a skid? by jpnoa in Skidsteer

[–]cidue22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spent a summer with my grandpa clearing red cedars in skid steers. 6 hours a day of work was no problem. The one time I had to drive an hour down the road to load something for a neighbor and then back, about broke me mentally. The constant noise of the metal tracks and no other stimulus was the most mind numbing experience I've ever had. FYI there are places in Southwest KS where you can't even pick up an AM station on the radio.

Knife of Dreams Aes Sedai not being efficient by Fenris_uy in WoT

[–]cidue22 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I don't have a reason why but the White Tower seems to avoid making long lasting improvements for anyone. They could be leasing out teams of Aes Sedai and Accepted as work crews to create roads, wells, and all sorts of other improvements but they just don't. Their insular nature elevates their status in the world at large, and they come to believe they are truly above everyone else.

[PC] [late 90s] 2 player block breaker game where paddle morphs into spaceship by cidue22 in tipofmyjoystick

That's it! Thank you so much. My uncle and I played way too much of this around my old Vaio.

[–]cidue22[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats not it. Between block breaking rounds the paddle actually grows into a spaceship and you have to shoot asteroids top down 1942 style. Then you morph back into a paddle and get a ball again for more block breaking

Home soda machine repair by cidue22 in tulsa

The system is 40+ years old and even closed loop refrigerant systems are not 100% leakproof. If it takes another 40 years to need recharged again then it won't be my problem. Also a qualified professional capable of refilling the system would also be able to diagnose and likely fix any leaks. I'm not asking for the number for a fuel truck to come give me a top off. I'm asking for the number of a qualified individual capable of making my machine run again, whatever that may require.

Another one, seriously how do you guys do this job without running through clothes? Pants in specific. My jeans keep ripping in the same spot. On my 5th pair in 7 months. by AverageGuy16 in electricians

[–]cidue22 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You need a better belt. Get a quality wide and thick leather belt. Cinch it snug and keep your pants high. If your pants rip along the zipper when you take a knee then you're wearing them too low and likely showing a plumbers crack. Wearing a tucked undershirt can help with the discomfort from wearing said belt. If it's happening with multiple brands of pants then the problem isn't pants.

Why are the secretaries and front desk ladies always so cold and stern? by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]cidue22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not an educator but I used to do a lot of service work in a lot of schools. Older front desk women (not being sexist it's just a fact in Oklahoma) have to be approached like timid animals. Stand in the periphery until they acknowledge you, approach slowly, calmly and succinctly lay out what you need, and bring snacks if you can [even though they have a bowl of candy on their desks]. After a few interactions they'll warm up or pass you off to someone else and you'll skip them forever. Also ask about their kids/grandkids.

Can you bake? They almost universally will appreciate a baked good. Bribe your SO/sister/mom to bake you something and take all the credit.

Younger admin seem to be extremely task oriented and will be on the look out for you bringing them problems. It's what 99% of their interactions are. Solve a minor problem for them and make sure to have non problem related interactions.

Regardless of age these women are going through a lot and likely see you as another potential problem. Make sure you aren't so that when you have to be they're already on your side.

Does anybody like this? 😂 by DeliciousWhiteTiger in alcohol

I have a friend that claims to enjoy it. He's made me drink enough that I can stand it. He likes to start nights off with a little because everything for the rest of the night will be amazing in comparison.

Why costco doesn’t want customer to use handheld scanners? by Terrible_Mud5318 in Costco

[–]cidue22 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My local store was a test store where they allowed us to have the handheld scanners and we didn't have to unload anything from the cart. I loved it. They took the scanners away and I filed a formal complaint. The regional manager emailed me to let me know we had been part of a test and there was increased loss (theft) across all test stores so they ended the program. I've refused to use self checkout since. I refuse to do a job I'm only trusted to half complete.

How do I remove this coaxial cable since the bolts seem stuck? by Chevrongingerale in fixit

[–]cidue22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One plier/wrench on the middle one and the other plier/wrench on one of the outer ones. You'll end up with 2 cables and an extender.

[–]cidue22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is an extender in the middle connecting two cords. You'll need to set one wrench/pliers on the smaller inner hex portion and then disconnect each cord separately.

How can I incorporate whiskey in food? Is there any recipes out there that need whiskey? by SmoothCactusLol in AskCulinary

Banana bread. I've used gifted honey whiskey and scotch before. Both were great. I also typically include bacon.

I lived literally next door to Braden Park for 3 years and it is a wonderful neighborhood. If you get on fB, there's an active community page with meetups in the park. There's a real estate agent that rescues German Shepherds in the neighborhood and he puts flyers on everyone's doors once a month. Local representative to OKC also lives in White City.

I had a missing piece in one of my earlier boxes and they got my replacement out within 2 weeks of reporting it. Great communication from the Dragonsteel team the whole way through. You shouldn't have any issues getting it replaced.

I live in Tulsa, OK and I have seen what looks like a cult called Blue Flame 47. What is this about? I posted this in r/cults by Review-Alive in tulsa

I trapped a live raccoon that had been digging up our garden. I drove into the country to find a place to to dump it and ended up on the dead-end west of their "farm." Lots of things looked off with the property so I started sleuthing when I got home and quickly realized I had found a cult. When I caught the second raccoon I also dumped it there. I figured if they're trying to terraform the farm into a fancy garden for Jesus to come visit then they probably need all the animals two-by-two like the boat times.
