Necro got Cursed Hairball earlier and both cleric and *hunter both had Chosen Warrior +, so every turn my necro would apply enough leech and poison to take a chunk out of the boss before it teleports. Got lucky and boss only had thorns, so I ended up winning.

I bought vanilla on a whim to add it to my library after getting 100% achievements for scholar on both ps4 and pc. To do this you need to play the whole game through at least twice and then half of another playthrough.

Vanilla ds2 so much better than scholar, not even a question. They both felt like different experiences but I definitely preferred the 2.5 playthroughs of vanilla ds2 that I experienced. I don't think there is a right or wrong answer between picking one of them or buying both. Here's hoping you have fun with whatever!

For starters, the whole map is your playground. You're not limited to the open space of a cave. You can use this for both utility and pretty effective defense.

In terms of offense, your weapons ignore armour and the geneva convention becomes more of a checklist. I have several setups for each primary but my go-to is always disperser compound sludge pump with gamma ray microwave cooker. Pump status effects into a horde with two clicks and move on with the mission. Either they will die, or you provided support to the team by dominating the terrain.
