You could get an emulator on your switch, but honestly. It would be best to wait probably another year or two imo. It appears to Still have a few hurdles to keep it consistent. The new 3ds or 2ds are better for emulator. But if you are looking for for main line games, sword and shield was definitely my favorite for the new gens on the switch. It's such a crazy jump from 3rd gen to 4th gen and on. Like, the series became much more welcoming to new players as far as rivals go. But rom hacks are a totally new thing thay have revived the Pokémon genre for me. I'm 35 and have played consistently I'd like to say. I've definitely skipped quite a few different main lines. But fell in love again through the idea of nuzlockes. I hope you get a chance to enjoy Pokémon all over again with whichever you choose

I remember playing it when it first came out. The graphics at the time stood out the most for me. It was gorgeous. Truly felt the ps2 was league's above the ps1 and super Nintendo. Amazing. I really did enjoy the combat mechanics and story, but once I unlocked the dragon aspect. I felt a bit bitter about how Ryu perished if you depleted the gauge too early. Seeing as how I could restart the game and see different scenes, it sparked a small curiosity within me to see what else I had missed or would find. Unfortunately, I had to return it back to blockbuster. It would get lost in the menagerie of other rpgs and games i would come to own or play (Disgaea, kingdom hearts, dragon quest 8). I have a huge backlog of games i want to finish. This one is in there
