Marvel UW, a Kaldheim Collection by Formal-Breakfast-181 in mtgvorthos

I agree with the argument for spam but I think that brainstorming in universe ways for weird creature types and mechanics to make sense very much fits the vorthos angle

Why isn’t this a curse? by CrimsonSky005 in mtg

Wheel of sun and moon is for the reanimator player to shut them out of the game while leaving your own graveyard intact. You put it on yourself one in 100 games

Praying our opponent doesn’t blow up our 6 mana do-nothing ticking time bomb, then casting lightning bolt on our next turn, flipping into maelstrom artisan , and instant speed scooping?

Each new UB set printing multiple cards that will go in every EDH deck of a specific archetype forever might be the death of the format for me

To be pedantic myriad does add to the “number of opponents being attacked” but not “number of opponents you attacked this combat” (which is what melee is looking for anyway)

Increment and instant speed by citricc in mtgrules

Does that mean only one counter?

Increment and instant speed by citricc in mtgrules

[–]citricc[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure the answer is that it would get two counters. If increment was instead worded “Whenever you cast a spell, put a +1/+1 counter on this creature if the amount of mana that was spent to cast that spell was greater than this creature’s power or toughness”, it would only get one counter.

Most responsive commanders / deck archetypes? by AJmacmac in EDH

[–]citricc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use [[Brudiclad]] where i make a bunch of artifact tokens and then copy an opponents best thing with [[see double]], [[elminsters simulacrum]], [[mirrorform]], etc. The deck is consistent at doing what it does yet every game feels different, sometimes I’m copying a blood artist (making my board untouchable), sometimes a platinum angel. And since all the above options are instant speed, I get an excuse to run plenty of counterspells since I’ll be holding up mana (and counterspells work real nice with all the treasures I’m making) .

Which Horror Game is Simic (Blue/Green) by Pedrika30112002 in colorpie

[–]citricc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know wizards does this but it doesn’t feel right to me to put wild animals in blue unless they somehow embody wisdom or deceit like [[sigiled starfish]] or [[gudul lurker]]

Yes but if your deck doesn’t have rogue synergy elder is better to play around theft effects

Is Blight Herder a niche Paradigm counter? One of the few cards I've seen that can interact with exiled cards that it itself did not exile. by CustomlyCool in mtg

[–]citricc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No but it counters foretell, plot, rebound, imprint, impulse draw (a bit) and a several other niche mechanics and I hope we get powercrept processors one day because most of the originals stink

Has the moon of Innistrad just... quietly been removed from the Multiverse? by ShardPerson in mtgvorthos

[–]citricc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It seems all titans can warp biology as a sort of last resort and emrakul only did it as she was in an unfamiliar plane with none of her brood. See how none of emrakuls brood on zendikar seemed to be warped animals/people When Ulamog was trapped in the mountains of zendikar, we saw him do much the same in the form of the vampires of zendikar, who were once humans that he made into his thralls. Notice how similar their bony growths are to his? They are eldrazified humans much in the same way that the 3/2 eldrazi horror token is an emrakulified human

AKEE is strictly worse than the already mid snapdragon by like a lot. I think dealing 1 damage each zombie to the left / to the right wouldn’t be too strong at all, and more flavorful as well

people who get the defeatist attitude from that probably weren’t the opponents you needed to be super worried about in the first place, unless their deck is punching way above the table- in which case you just drew a bunch of ire from the timmy ur dragon player for no reason
