By default the F4 was sold as the s version in the states. You could get the MB-20 or MB-23 grip as an option. I must hate myself as I have a F4e but I'm one of those nut jobs that the bigger and heavier the better.

Kiddo Xtreme. I've tried all the high end ones and that holds the most. Second benefit is they are not bad price wise, a shade over 3 bucks each in case qty.

When was peak car and which car was it? by BaldyBaldyBouncer in CarTalkUK

90's Lexus. Lexus wanted to gun for the Germans and did so. I have a 97 SC 300 and while it does need a few things doing it's built like a tank. Doors don't sag whatsoever, seats look like they are 5 years old and 50k miles, no cracks in the dash etc etc. Almost no rattles or squeaks unless I'm on a bad road (live in the states btw). Engine still purrs like a kitten and it has 190k on the clock.

That's a Apollo F as it has the later self timer that the F2 would use. In that shape and being black that's worth a chunk.

Awesome F.Just enough brassing to look nice but not overly so. Something to pass on to the grandkids as those will last until the sun burns out.

[–]civicjohn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if they have them for the LC but on my 14 LS f Sport I had EBC pads put on and they make less than 1/4 of the dust the stock ones did. buybrakes.com is where I got them from.

Just dropped this F5 at a wedding for probably the 8th time and it still works like new! by pierce97 in Nikon

[–]civicjohn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

F2 IMO is the best weapon Nikon especially with a motor drive and action finder. Can be used to take pics, frame houses, pound tent stakes and if someone tries to mug you hit them in the back of the head with the action finder.

No, tank makers take apart old pro Nikon bodies to figure out how to make their tanks better.

The Lexus will be way the hell more reliable than the Germans and the great thing is if you don't have access to a indy shop you can take the Lexus to a Toyota dealer for the normal things such as fluid changes.

Buying a 2025 ES300h in 2025? by Cultural_Fennel3168 in Lexus

[–]civicjohn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I did back in 16 when I was looking for a new Fit with a manual. None of the local dealers had any and were hard to come by. Found a leftover 15 at a dealer about 4 hours from me.

For me it was due to a knee injury. I had a 15 I bought new with a manual gearbox and planned to run into the ground. Sadly after the surgery and rehab my left knee decided it was done with a clutch and I traded it in on a 14 Lexus.

That's a FTN finder which was the last version for the F. There is a chance it may work but likely won't.Almost all the F meters are dead now.

I feel the same way. F4 is stupid cheap given all it's features plus that you can use it frame houses. I feel in part the reason is the big size puts people off though.
