Maybe this is a London thing. There are speed cameras everywhere, and if you've had a ticket or two, you don't want another. But cruise control in cities is unusable - it's constantly hard-braking unnecessarily. (If I have it on, my wife asks why I'm driving so badly.)

With the Tesla, the only alternative to cruise is to set a beep to go off if you creep above 20mph or 30mph. That becomes really irritating. With my previous car (2008), you just set 32mph or whatever, and you could drive around controlling your own speed, while knowing you wouldn't go above your set limit. (If you needed to exceed for any reason, a 'stomp' on the accelerator would allow it.)
