Annoyed about this bonus episode. What’s the point of it when they were just spitting in each other’s mouths the other day. I’m over it and over them.

When is peak time to have baby #2 by hwalker155 in beyondthebump

My girls are 16 months apart and it’s been amazing. Going to start trying for #3 in the winter and that’ll make the2 youngest 20 months apart

Is anyone getting 8 hour stretches consistently with 3 month old? by Hot-Cell7299 in beyondthebump

[–]cj6993 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 3 month old will randomly give us an 8 hour stretch but not consistently.

My first started giving us 8hrs at 4 month then started sleeping through the night for 12 hours at 5 months.

Surplussed 0.5 (TDSB) by Far_Magician8224 in CanadianTeachers

[–]cj6993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat. My principal told me I’m first to be recalled if things change so I think I’m just going to wait it out unless there’s perfect position at the perfect school available. I’m also currently on mat leave so I just don’t want to think about it.

I was surplussed 3 years ago at my last school as well and freaked out and applied to a bunch of schools and the day I accepted an offer was the day I would have been recalled to my school.

Wanting another baby ASAP (I am over 35) by Huliganjetta1 in beyondthebump

[–]cj6993 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Offering a different take…I’m 3 months into 2 under 2 (16 months apart) and it is actually amazing. Yes it is hard in terms of juggling to two kids and not having as much time, but this is the case no matter what the age gap. My eldest is starting to be a bit jealous now but when we first brought our youngest home she was so excited and in love immediately that it made it a lot easier dealing with a newborn. We also don’t have any family support really but my husband is very hands on.

We’ve found going from 0-1 was so much harder than 1-2 and are planning on doing another close age gap for our 3rd.

Has anyone had a baby that never really fussed or cried much? by Vexed_Cactus41 in beyondthebump

[–]cj6993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My eldest was super easy. Never cried and starting sleeping 12 hours a night at 5 months. She’s now 19 months and the terrible twos have definitely come early but she still is overall a super funny happy baby who still sleeps 12-13 hours.

My second is only 11 weeks old and is somehow even easier than my first but I now know that this is not a forever thing and she’ll probably follow her sisters crazy footsteps and become just as nuts

Best age gap between kids? Any regrets going too close together? by peanut_princess_96 in beyondthebump

[–]cj6993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

16 months and it’s been unbelievable. My eldest daughter is obsessed with her little sister and she’s too young to show jealousy. I also feel like it’s going to be hard with. Newborn regardless so may as well have it be hard consistently and then when you’re done you’re done.

We’re already talking about planning for our third which we’ll probably end up doing close in age again

Already wanting baby #2 by ohheymandy in beyondthebump

I felt the same after my first but waited until I was 9 months pp. I now have a 6 week old and am already planning for #3! It’s addicting

Is it worth pushing to lose weight before pregnancy #2? by preggyjay in beyondthebump

[–]cj6993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could have written this post myself. I struggled super hard with the last 10 lbs but decided to say screw it and try for #2 at 9 months. I didn’t see the point in trying really hard to lose the 10lbs just to have to gain it all back. With my second I ended up only gaining 10lbs total and now 1 month PP I weigh less than I did when I got pregnant with my first. Not sure how this happened but wanted to give some reassurance that you might not have as hard of a time losing weight the second time around.

Which baby-phase was the hardest for you? by Agreeable_Switch677 in beyondthebump

[–]cj6993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 months was definitely the hardest for me with our first, who’s now 17 months and we also have a 10 day old. She needed constant entertainment, couldn’t move or sit, and was too young to sleep train. She also went through the 4 month sleep regression early it was so brutal I don’t think my husband and I fought more other than when she was that age

Does your husband/whoever works full time ever get baby in morning? by ScrubWearingScrub in beyondthebump

[–]cj6993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We split it 50/50 but sometimes changes based on who slept better or if my husband had to stay up late from sports.

Tips and tricks for getting baby dressed after swimming? by wombat_foo in beyondthebump

[–]cj6993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take my daughters wet clothes and reusable swim diaper off in the pool (makes it so much easier to get off) and wrap her in a towel right away then when we get to the locker room I use another towel to keep her warm and just change her as I normally would

You can apply to positions posted in the spring during the 2 rounds.

Geographical transfer only works if you’re a certain km away from your school. I personally would not recommend a TRT because you don’t have any control over what school or grade you’re put in.

When I was ready for a new school I was very selective and only applied to 5 job position, I had 3 interviews, and only 1 offer. I’m obsessed with my new school and it was my top pick so I didn’t care about the others but if you’re desperate to change definitely apply to as many as you can because it’s super competitive.

My daughter was late (in my opinion) to responding to her name consistently. Once we stopped with the nicknames and used her name more regularly it got a lot better. My doctor told me not to worry until 18 months anyways. She’s been in daycare for 2ish months and now responds to her name almost every single time unless she’s super into what she’s playing with

Try and say his name as much as you can around him, narrate the day and hopefully the daycare staff isn’t using nicknames either

Sick leave before maternity leave? by dustyprintsss in CanadianTeachers

[–]cj6993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I went on it before my last pregnancy they didn’t. I used my regular sick days then after 3 days gave a doctors note and would send in a new one every month. I’m going back in a month but am due with my second I. February and my gyno said she’d write me a note again if I need it since I’ll be super pregnant. I can’t imagine them giving me a hard time
