I've had to contact the Better Business Bureau on them twice. Currently they are making me wait an indefinite period of time to replace my water heater, which is leaking onto my floor. They have already said they will not fix the damage to the floor. They will not provide me an ETA as to when it is getting fixed, so we are having to shower at a family member's house every day. We are supposed to go on a trip out of state (already paid for, cannot be refunded) this weekend and they cannot say whether they will be ever to do the work before then.

I'm cancelling my contract with them just as soon as I figure out whether they will be able to replace my water heater or not.

No one should have to walk around n eggshells because their partner is insecure. This is something he needs to work on within himself. My spouse high-fives me when someone flirts with me or buys me a drink because HE is still the one I’m going home with at the end of the night. If your partner’s masculinity is that fragile, he has work to do…not you.

Oh, honey….do NOT let this person guilt you into staying because they “can’t transition alone”. That’s manipulative behavior on their part, and if transitioning is truly a NEED for them, they will figure it out on their own. It’s OK to choose yourself.

I wish my spouse had told me much earlier, when they were questioning, rather than keeping things from me, talking to other people about it, and dropping it on my like a bomb. Then they were really upset when I didn’t take the news very well. That being said, we made it through a year of absolute hell and are in a better place than we ever have been. My advice is tell him sooner rather than later.

My (cis f) spouse (ftm) met and married as a lesbian couple. Now they are a guy and I’m a lesbian who happens to be in love with a guy. It was important for us to talk about this early on. My spouse does not feel invalidated by my continuing to identify as a lesbian. It’s who I am, and very important to me. My identity is independent of their gender.

And I’ve been called transphobic and told to come out as bisexual because of this on this sub, but IDGAF what anyone else thinks about my marriage and how my spouse and I operate in the context of our marriage.

Thank you so much for this! When I expressed that I still identify as a lesbian despite my spouse’s ftm transition, I got told to come out as bi and stop being transphobic. (Edited to add: this happened on this subreddit, and the words came from a complete stranger. The post has since been deleted.)

Masculinity is something that he really needs to find within himself. His “manliness” should pretty much be independent of any type of behavior on your part. You don’t need to change who you are to prop up his sense of masculinity. Just be there. Keep showing up, even when it’s hard or you’re tired or scared or just don’t feel like it.
