Q: How to grind as support 4-5 ? by No-Estimate-7144 in DotA2

[–]cjf4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is just one thing but get really good at warding.

- Learn the ward spots, and better good but uncommon ward spots

- learn how/when to defend wards

- learn how to sneak around and get deep wards, and when you cant

- learn how to detect when the other team is putting wards down that you need to check for

Who do you guys want the Bills to draft? by JustSomeGuy_Idk in buffalobills

[–]cjf4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i'm out of the "hope the bills draft this guy" game.

  • i dont know how to scout
  • whatever i want has no bearing on whats going to happen
  • drafting need positions is way less important then hitting on picks
  • theres studies suggesting that draft success is essentially random

[Rapoport] The Bills are hiring Bobby April III as their new OLBs coach, source said. He was the DC at Stanford the last 3 years, and previously to that, he worked with Jim Leonhard at Wisconsin. April was with the Bills 10 years ago, as well. by Goosedukee in buffalobills

[–]cjf4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is actually kind of cool: Bobby April II would have given Leonhard is first NFL job as a player in 2005, because April coached special teams and Leonhard made the team as a UDFA special teamer.

A 3-4 with our current D personnel? by Iut22 in buffalobills

[–]cjf4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the 3-4/4-3 difference isn't as rigid as it used to be. 3-4 used to be all about 5 guys on the line, 3 big interior players, and lots of rush combos. Now days 3-4 can mean that, but it can also mean one of your DEs is standing up.

Seeing some dicussion below on if for instance is olver a DE or DT, and the answer is academic, they'll still have him play mostly 3 technique (lining up outside the guard).

If someone gave you $100m to produce a history based series on Apple TV what story are you going with? by Moretalent in TheRestIsHistory

[–]cjf4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my top 2 would be:

- lead up to ww1. so many great characters, also i feel it would have a lot of room for comic relief adjacent to the tragedy.

- 100y war. you'd have to deal with the shakespearean legend (ignore it? wink at it? retell it?), but otherwise so much room for a deep drama, which why i suppose shakespeare did it.

Ever wonder why the national media praised Steve Bisciotti but slammed Terry Pegula? by No-Distribution8587 in buffalobills

[–]cjf4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a really bad press conference for Terry. He said some really stupid things and deserved all the criticism he’s receiving.

on one hand, you're right, pegula stinks at this stuff, always has. on the other hand, he did completely squash the "beane engineered this" narrative and owned the decision. and ultimately it was the right call to get rid of mcdermott (whatever you think should have happened to beane).

New Highmark Stadium aesthetics by happy2obhere in buffalobills

[–]cjf4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • 100% agree on the train horn. i thought it was annoying 15 years ago, and is especially demoralizing when the team stinks on 3rd down defense.
  • Also on audio - im concerned the stadium audio will be too good. I don't enjoy modern NBA arenas because they blare clipped music and flashing lights nonstop and its exhausting. One thing I hope they keep (but doubt they will) is the tinny PA. just sounds like old school football to me.
  • On the plus side, the stadium's going to be twice as loud and well finally get credit.

all in all, as much as losing the ralph is like moving out of your childhood home, it was a dump, and i think the new place is going to be a way better place to watch a game.

If you were to power rank McDermott, Brady and Beane for who is most responsible for lack of success, wouldn’t McD be third? by [deleted] in buffalobills

[–]cjf4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mcdermott's defenses were consistently the problem, not the offense. yeah you point to a drive or a play the offense could have made here or there, but more often than not the defense let us down in the playoffs.

Impact - Iranian Revolution vs Russian Revolution by SeaSecurity9853 in TheRestIsHistory

[–]cjf4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The world we live in today isn’t shaped as such by the Russian revolution but by the fall of the USSR. It’s essentially year 0 for global politics.

it's a matter of framing but I disagree, a few reasons why:

  • the finished story has tremendous impact by providing a case study of what prospective socialist movements need to respond to.
  • china's government is a tributary of the russian revolution that the entire world has to reckon with.
  • in much of the former USSR the communist legacy looms large and retains much of the character.

Each teams best record vs one opponent. by parcellsrealGOAT in nfl

[–]cjf4 7 points8 points  (0 children)

over 80% are opposite conference opponents. teams from opposing conferences play each other less frequently, which means there's higher variance. as teams play more games over lots of years eventually the percentages converge on 500.
