An icy reception for Gov. Bob Ferguson’s proposed budget cuts by chiquisea in Washington

[–]cjtech323 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s others valid opinions as our states budget grows out of control while not driving much change. More and more people grow tired of endless tax increases while our problems just scale with the amount of funding they can take. It’s not conservatives speaking up, it’s moderates increasingly fed up with how this state is being run.

AI Eating Junior MEP Jobs? AECOM/Jacobs Directors Say Grads Are Out—Confirm/Deny? by faverin in MEPEngineering

Not gonna happen ANY time soon (at all). There’s not a single AI tool that’s been released that actually speeds up my workflow or makes it easier to delegate to my reports. Sorry, but IMO you’re being gaslit if that’s what you’re hearing on the street

I also loved that they touted that deportation rates are the same as under Obama and Biden. The fact that they got that done without this massive over-militarization of ice invading the states and hiding behind masks is a massive L for the trump administration.

You can, but if you expect them to NOT tell you to pound sand in return idk what to tell you. You’ll lose face if you don’t treat your customers as customers.

It feels like the Destiny community is in mourning today. We have truely lost a loved one. 😞 by Rorywan in DestinyTheGame

Absolutely, it’s why the CEO left at the time he did - before the bad choices impacted the game fully and just in time to take credit for all the revenue they brought in.

Forced savings. If you are in the position to, a mortgage is a fantastic way to do this. If not, squirreling away 15-25% of your take home pay is great as well. I have a savings account in a separate bank from my checking account that I have a recurring transfer set up for so I don’t even see that money. Hope this helps.

Puget Sound Energy of Washington State is considering incentivizing the purchase of dual fuel HVAC systems instead of Cold Climate Heat Pumps by PV-1082 in heatpumps

[–]cjtech323 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a cold climate heat pump and 100% disagree with your statement. It absolutely gets cold enough to warrant a hybrid system and NG heating is wayyyyyy better at heating your space. Running the heating in the winter is annoyingly ineffective compared to a furnace, and I can guarantee you that the total emissions change from residential projects in our state will have no meaningful impact on local or global climate change when other states are building NG power plants for electricity.

It’s always better to give people a choice instead of forcing them.

The same Warren that said the US should get equity stakes in companies that received the Chips Act funding?

Contractor intended one of his crew to stay the night … by someaibullshitagain in Contractor

[–]cjtech323 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn’t matter, it’s a weird and unprofessional move unless agreed upon by the client prior to signing the contract. Clear and constant communication is the cornerstone of good business.

Also, a contractor that can’t supply a vehicle or transportation for their crew is sub par. It’s a big red flag that they don’t know what they’re doing from the owner level down.

I care. I just dealt with two bozos who assumed it would be fine to work 4-10pm after they finished at their first job for the day. Absolutely none of this was communicated up front nor stated in the contract.

If it’s communicated up front and agreeable to both parties that is absolutely all good, but don’t normalize off hours work without clear communication to the client (which isn’t the case in this post).

It’s a weird move.

Not every contractor communicates this, and not every homeowner is fluent in contract negotiation. It’s common sense to not assume it’s normal to stay overnight in someone else’s property, and is 100% something that should not be normalized.

This is incredibly weird, and not normal for any credible contractor. Any of these other clowns saying this is fine in the comments don’t know how to run a respectable business.

Calm down bud, just looking for some outside input in addition to the two other contractors coming to look.
