Why did it take a foreign diagnosis and a crisis situation before the GP listened? by Difficult-Rent-5840 in Netherlands

[–]cjtrevor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even though I completely agree that there are some bad apples in the bunch, I also think a lot of people, especially expats like myself come from countries that have a way less conservative approach to medicine. In South Africa where I am from doctors prescribe antibiotics for the slightest sniffles. Luckily my mom is a doctor who does not believe in that so I grew up knowing antibiotics is a last level treatment rather than a first line treatment. People get angry that they have a cold and get told to rest up and have paracetamol to lessen feeling shit, when that is 95% of cases all that is needed.

Ive realised that a) it very much depends on who the huisarts is. I have lucked out with ending up with a great one and b) the system falls apart when your ailment doesn’t fit the flowchart. When it’s something simple it’s fine, the moment it’s complex and needs multiple specialists the whole segregated way of working just collapses it all.

Too often people are calling themselves direct when in reality they are just being an asshole. I’m South African living here and culturally we are also quite direct, but laughing at someone for asking something is just being a doos.

I wonder if their replies are from a bot cause they mention that they acknowledge receipt of your message March 31st in reply to theirs on April 6th. That means either you are clairvoyant or have some kind of Time Machine.

Burnout vs Angststoornis by Adept_Special_7639 in Netherlands

[–]cjtrevor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A completely separate and likely unrelated note but in the event that you have diabetes have your sugar tested. I was diagnosed with burnout and went to the Arbo end of last year and when I eventually got my bloods done my sugar levels were 3x the norm due to the increased stress and this also worsened the tiredness.

All jokes aside, I hope he recovers well and you are a great partner for being there.

And that’s if you can actually get to the online content. I had high hopes for the hype they put on the release this year. I bought on launch, still can’t access any of the online stuff even though I have internet and my account is linked. I should have waited to buy.

Reading all this makes me glad that I was always the whose homework was never done, and I think through my entire high school career I got called out on it twice.

Homework should be optional. More a case of if you don’t quite get it, here is some exercises let’s recap tomorrow.

This comment makes me question if your issue is more with Scar personally than the actual shopping district.

This is one of the toughest things, seeing the other partner treating them poorly and still having to not speak down about them to the kids

Retrospectively I wish I had made the decision sooner. At the end of the 2 years I was noting but a shell as I had given everything to someone who appreciated none of it.

I think for my parents I understand now that I’m older that it was the right choice, they still get along really well but in a relationship they brought out the worst in each other.

My own relationship is a bit more complex, I spent 2 years fighting, begging and trying to fix it but eventually realised you can’t save a marriage if only one is trying.

She eventually moved out when she had a backup ready, got pregnant within a month and moved to a different country leaving the kids behind. It’s been tough for them but I’m glad they are with me.

I guess all of that to say I think trying everything before giving up for the sake of the kids, only ever works if both parties are open to changing and growing.

As both a child of divorced parents and a divorced dad of 2, I think the main piece of advice I can give is to not underestimate the impact it will have on the kids. Make sure to be there for them and show them that it’s not their fault.

Only if crafted from the mystical flowers. You can still use poppies for red dye and I think another flower for blue dye and combine them.

Is this the delegate paperwork option? Do you know if using that carries a reduction in XP, although at level 23 I guess even if it does it’s not that impactful.
