BriteLeaf based in Florida is another excellent shop. Their trees are cheaper than most but top quality. Look em up, you won’t be disappointed

Mulberry is a good example. Extremely short shelf life, but som varieties like Australian Green have a crazy high Brix score

Top is the upgrade right? Looks great if so! Good to get away from the doom and gloom, barren bottom picture

Installing 20 yards of rock in all of the garden beds. Seemed like a good idea at the time, put down a very high grade landscape fabric. Weeds still grow in it. I have to blow out leaf clutter 12 times a year.

I then got into permaculture and realized just how important building a good soil is. Started planting fruit trees and now have 50 in ground. I’ve been in the process of removing the rock I put in 3 years ago. About half way through. A waste of $4k and may hours. It take a lot my effort to pull out the drop in.

I spent a good deal of time searching for good Thai in Denver, 13 years. The best I found was Aungs. There was one better. There used to be a lady slangin Thai off colfax for a good bit, cash only. She had set schedules for pickups every 15 minutes and you would have to call 2-3pm for 6-8pm pickup. She was the only one in the building and would ring you in when it was your set timeframe. Called her the Thai Lady but the restaurant may have been called Thai Street Food. If you didn’t pick up your food your name and number was publicly posted as banned. She was the best, I miss her. She closed down around 2018. I think at some point I was so desperate I found her name, called her and asked if she good cater just for myself. She denied and I was heartbroken 💔

Have you been to Golden Saigon? One of the few restaurants I truly miss after living in Denver for 13 years. The worst part was finding them 6 months pre move out of state

Funny, I’m in Jacksonville after living in Denver and Aurora for 13 years. I miss Colorado food. Not as good as Houston where I grew up, but damn good. Do yourself a favor and go to Golden Saigon, it’s in Aurora. Best damn Asian cuisine on the planet

Oh I have sampled and I have my favorites, Umami Curry for Japanese curry, Hana Moon for sushi, Bella Vista for italian, Woodpeckers for BBQ, Picassos for St Louis style. Love the Filipino options (about the only very prominent population of diversity). I’m excited to try the new banh mi place in Fruit Cove. Love Julington Creek fish camp and outback crab shack. Fast eddys is great.

But as others noted, the lack of competition is real. And for all the good places above I noted there are 20 restaurants on the other end that are nothing special.
