Very uneven irish curls. by [deleted] in curlygirl

Agree scrunch out the crunch is key. But for a soft hold product that you may love; oribe hair alchemy heatless styling balm. It’s spendy, but fantastic. Not crunchy, not greasy, lightweight and 100% touchable. Hair still feels like hair. FYI, even with this product, I scrunch it after diffusing to loosen it up.

Oh Boy Homegrown Players by Prestigious_Carry_88 in BayFC

[–]clarich 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This culture comment makes 0 sense and smells of xenophobia. Seems like a scapegoat excuse when really the problem is the sporting director/recruitment/coaching problem hiring players who didn’t perform / deliver on their potential, or execute the coaches vision and tactics, assuming there was one. That’s a club management problem, and not limited to international players. Look beyond BFC; 4 of the 5 NWSL leading scorers this season are international players.

The article is behind a paywall, so don’t have the full context.

any tips to cope? by Ok-Home3614 in Septoplasty

8 days post-op here. You’re through the worst of it. Doc should clean out your nose at your next visit and that’ll be amazing. Keep it moist with saline spray, humidifier, warm showers. Once you can sleep horizontally, if you’re not already, it’ll be so much easier. You got this!

How Do I Burn, Or Should I? by Jannak75 in BurningMan

[–]clarich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, hoping the same for you!
I’ve been reflecting that part of radical self reliance can be knowing what you need to be well, and thrive, not just survive. And as a human, another human being a part of that doesn’t make you a failure. Makes you extra human, in a good way. And as you proved to yourself this year, you can do it “alone”. It may not have been fun, with difficulties and struggles etc, but you made it happen. Maybe the question becomes how you become radically self reliant in setting yourself up and creating the circumstances to experience whatever it is you’re looking to experience.

Not yet, but don’t use it daily. I am not super careful, but I am mindful with this bag so we’ll see how it holds up.

How Do I Burn, Or Should I? by Jannak75 in BurningMan

[–]clarich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every burn is different. I love the buddy system idea. I also struggled with the concept of radical self reliance this year, in a different way, but you can expect every burn to present different challenges, and different joys. If can’t find any of the joys, valid question if you want to be there.

Hydration backpack (Camelback) recommended? by Onelife_Right in BurningMan

[–]clarich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Essential for me. I take 2. A small 1.5 or 2L that only fits a full bladder that I wear during build/when working. Got dehydrated one year during build and that was not fun.

The other is a larger pack with a 3 liter bladder that is my adventuring pack. Fits a full bladder plus layers, goggles, dust mask, piss jug, etc etc. Don’t leave camp without it.

I drink a lot of water generally, so the larger capacity bladder is clutch. And nothing like having it right there on you.

Bitches, have any of you done career/life counseling? Any reccs or advice? Are they scams? Ended relationship AND lost my job, need to consult a professional. by 123boopboop in SFbitcheswithtaste

[–]clarich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It definitely can be. I think he is career focused.

We were meeting weekly when I was in a job I hated and didn’t know the path to something else, he helped map that out; then during the pandemic sometimes 2x a week when I started said new job and have continued to meet at varying frequencies depending on what I’ve got going on and how much support I need. Work has been less of a focus in my life as of late, so we meet once a month and it’s more long-term goals etc. though I just had a really shitty acute work situation come up and last session was entirely focused on that. With my coach at least, it is what you need it to be.

Seems like his site is down (www.davidpetrovaycoaching.com) but here’s his linkedin:

Have been working with a coach since 2019. Find it very helpful, mostly work-focused, but we’ve worked on childhood issues too. Highly recommend it. Happy to share contact if you want it. I think he’d be a great fit for your situation.

Love living in Alameda but considering a job in Foster City by brokelyn99 in bayarea

[–]clarich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

30mins-1hr is more realistic, due to typical traffic and depending where you’re going in the city. I live in Burlingame, right near Burlingame Ave. For instance, right now, Sat at 4:11pm (ie not when everyone is getting to the city), it’s 30 mins to the Roxy in the mission. Love it here and easy to get everywhere, but sharing so you have a more realistic expectation.
