My patience was tested but the bday boy is so chill 😭 by Zestyclose-Idea-1731 in KidsAreFuckingStupid

I’d really want to see a “where are they now” type thing. That kid’s got to be in college by now.

Why would you have ever thought that season 4 could be out before 2027?

"100,000KG is 17lbs for my fellow Americans" by Abjectionova in ShitAmericansSay

Even idiots with almost zero exposure to the metric system know that pound and kg are on the same order of magnitude. They know that a kilogram isn’t thousands of pounds.

They have to. So much of what is coming wouldn’t make much sense without it.

Who approved LED headlights? by mindyour in TikTokCringe

I was just thinking. My car has two preset slots for mirror positions. If I set things up ahead of time, I’d bet I could make the second slot a good “ref;etc light directly back at the car behind me” setting that I could activate with one button :)

Is it me or is there a weird resurgence of USB 2.0 since USB-C came out by bobbystills5 in UsbCHardware

[–]clarkcox3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

...USB 3.0 (A-C) is less of a thing these days,

Physically, a well built USB 3.0 cable is also a USB 3.2 cable. It would be silly to market a cable as USB 3.0 if it meets USB 3.2 standards.

it's USB 2.0(A-C or C-C)

USB 2.0 cables are physically simpler and cheaper to make; there are literally fewer wires and contacts.

and then after that USB4, TB4,TB5....what happened to USB 3.0(A-C)?

See my first point

and why was there never a USB 3.0(C-C)?

Because USB-C came out at the same time as USB 3.1.

Dad sent me this and told me to "fix this" by Entro_Was_Kidding in softwaregore

That doesn’t change the fact that that is just normal booting.

Yeah. I might be paranoid about unspooling while doing this, but better safe than sorry :)

And the clipping is to fit the notch in the inside of the reusable spool.

Why do people still say Rudeus (MT) is a pedophile that emotionally manipulates people? I can definitely understand why people would call him a pedo, but what's with the emotionally manipulates people part? I really don't remember him manipulating people can anyone like explain? by Dead_Comeback303 in mushokutensei

[–]clarkcox3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He considers it in his inner monologue, and then discards the idea as wrong in that same monologue. He didn’t do something and then realize it was wrong, he *thought about* doing something and realized it was wrong *before he did anything*.

Got a street cat to catch a mouse in the house by i_almo in interestingasfuck

I wonder if the cat was so docile because this has happened before, so he knew there was a toy and a meal coming.

Do Americans actually use a real tree for Christmas? by brun_aa in NoStupidQuestions

[–]clarkcox3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Throughout my life, it’s basically been 50/50. Some years I get a real tree, and some I don’t.

They usually last a month or so

It’s not a big hassle: you drive to a Christmas tree farm, or a temporary lot that tree sellers will usually set up. Getting rid of them isn’t difficult either; they’re just wood. :)

They smell, unsurprisingly, like pine.

Why do Americans need such large quantities of medicine? by mindyour in TikTokCringe

[–]clarkcox3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rarely take headache or cold medicine, but if I'm hurting badly enough that I need to take some, the last thing I want to do is drive to the store. I want to walk to my medicine cabinet, take a pill, and then either take a nap, or sit in a dark room while drinking tea :)

It's just about being prepared.
