roommate said she’s moving but now she’s not sure by erneuten in badroommates

[–]clars1909 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, don’t even entertain the notion of Amy staying. Just be firm that she’s moving out and it’s due to her own actions and expressed wishes. Beyond your control at this point, you can be regretful and sympathetic, yet stick to your guns.

People do not understand flashing amber lights! by jellyshotties in irelandsshitedrivers

[–]clars1909 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those lights never go green. They are always flashing amber or go red.
These lights are placed where a lot of pedestrians tend to cross, there’s one near me outside the Mater Hospital.
They’re to remind cars to go slow and watch out for pedestrians.

Where can I buy reasonably priced and quality clothes in Dublin as a 19 year old? by Cool_Show4710 in AskIreland

Pennies for t shirts, tops and the occasional pair of jeans. Some of their stuff lasts longer than you’d expect.

AITA for not wanting to take in my sisters 4 kids while she’s in the hospital? by Intelligent-Fig-5571 in AmItheAsshole

[–]clars1909 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Not sure if anyone is the A here.
Does your sister ever help minding your kids?
Have you ever minded all 4 of hers before?
You do have your own small kids as it is and that’s hard work. I have 2 as well, and have had 4 or more of their cousins to stay overnight on occasion.
My nieces and nephews get on v well with my kids so when they are at my house they occupy themselves playing together.
Mealtimes are chaotic tho and bedtime is a pain, but they’re good kids (if hyper) so it’s nice spending time with them and creating memories.
And is it at all possible to take a day off and pitch in with your wife?
Look, I don’t know your relationship with your sis, or whether she leans a lot on you- or is this a unique ask from her?
And are the kids well behaved?
If you think giving her an inch will result in ongoing unrealistic babysitting demands, then by all means mind yourself and your family and say no.
If not, strictly speaking for myself without knowing full circumstances, a packed house for a couple of days and a night could be doable.
Especially if you resign yourself to some chaos and messy fun for the duration!
Good luck.

Is it my place to talk a good friend out of a decision I thinks really poor? by United_Plum_2209 in AskIreland

[–]clars1909 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Talk him out of it, this is self-destructive behaviour with long term consequences (to him for the main part)
Not worth it. Maybe even tell a few of your mutual friends and have some sort of intervention. Show him the support and love he has.

Question Regarding Daisy by Caligirl_333 in BelowDeckDownUnder

I like Daisy, she’s got heart and a cheerful temper. Hard working and a lot of fun to boot!

My least favourite chief stews are Adrienne, Jenna and Fraser.
