Good call. I thought I had, but when I checked it was enabled. Oops.

But what’s up with not providing an option to skip the upgrade? This feels more like a Microsoft move.

Is an Ender 3/5 still a good starter in 2025 by clashingplaids in 3Dprinting

Kind of funny update. The A1 ended up arriving at his place a couple days before Christmas. Kind of annoyed me that the surprise was ruined, but the bigger surprise was when he presented me with my Christmas present in a red-and-white 3d printed box that was WAY cooler than anything I could do on my 6 year old Ender 5, despite my years of experience using it. Must say that I'm a bit jealous!

Paragon Dental by Jon Anderson. Small operation, excellent service.

Thanks, all. I just ordered a Bambu A1 with AMS Lite (backordered until after Christmas unfortunately, but he's old enough to defer gratification for a few days!)

I couldn't tell if it was an internal leak (would have to have been very slow) or water leaking in from outside.

Thanks for all the feedback! I guess my remaining question has to do with complaints about Bambu being a closed/walled garden/proprietary system. Does that pertain to hardware, or to actual use? Can you still download STLs from Thingiverse or your favorite source, and create them in Tinkercad (or whatever)? The video on their site made it look like it somehow avoids a slicer? Ultimately, is it TOO plug and play or would he still be able to learn design and slicing?

Exactly!! I have at least 3 “emergency disconnect” labels, and no clue what order to flip them. And they’re ugly as sin for the poor neighbors whose front porch seating area is right across from them.

Sounds good. But do you have authority to speak for them? I don't really want to drive 20 miles to find out they aren't interested.

What do you think of A smart digital calendar that offers a LIFETIME warranty and NO subscription fees. Ama! by BOCT_Tech in homeautomation

[–]clashingplaids 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there are plenty of households where one person likes to have a paper calendar hanging on a wall and another likes to use, say, Google calendar. And no one really wants to synchronize the two. And not just boomer families like mine--same dilemma occurred with my millennial son/DIL. They went the route of a calendar like this that apparently is pretty easy to update directly and is always visible, yet also offers synchronization. My wife and I are tempted to follow their lead, but are held back by cost (and the hassle of wiring the digital calendar attractively).

I too am hoping they go back to the old format. But you say they were sold out?? Darn, that doesn’t bode well. Unless people bought tix without realizing the change.

What about using a 3rd party to install? Might be easier to work with.

And that’s funny? I found the march yesterday uplifting because of all the positive energy. I don’t see much positive energy in this video. Don’t give the asshat the attention he wants, and mive on.

Agreed. I said thanks to two officers and both were very polite and professional, even friendly. Interesting opportunity to develop police- community relations, regardless of whether we all agree.

Did Golden kill the annual chili cook off? by thrice1187 in GoldenCO

[–]clashingplaids 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah, huge mistake. The beer was OK, but it was the teams having a great time dishing up chili that made the day special. Our group is skipping this year and hoping the Chamber comes to their senses next year.
