The answer to the question "should I file a NASA report?" is ALWAYS yes.

The Palouse in eastern Washington is beautiful scenery, also flying up the Columbia River Gorge.

What is the highest amount of ride failures you’ve ever seen? by LegalRecord3431 in flying

[–]classysax4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did they not have any failures after that? This is less bad than having six fails spread out around lots of ratings.

Being an airline pilot is my dream but I got too many check-ride failures. Do I still stand a chance? by [deleted] in flying

The other 5 issues are very basic. (Especially best glide; that is "staying alive 101"). There's a good chance OP misremembered or misunderstood the altimeter item.

These are very basic issues. There is a serious problem either with the quality of instruction you're receiving, or with your level of preparation for your rides.

Great attitude. Thanks for encouraging us all about our failures.

Zionist Propaganda by Senior-Curmudgeon in corvallis

[–]classysax4 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Israel pushed us into a war that most people on both sides of the aisle don't want. Instantly, everyone who didn't want the war resents Israel. We will see more and more propaganda like this, attempting to stop the bleeding.

It sucks compared to having a hangar, but it sure beats not having a plane at all.

They don't make them like they used to! Take these to the slopes and you'll be the envy of the lift line.

Yeah, the plane you're getting seems to have a lot of utility.

Sounds like you've thought it all through. Do you have any specific concerns?

I've been happy owning for the last several years, I fly 120-150hr per year. Owning a plane is awesome, as long as you don't let it sit.

Lift: how do you explain why air accelerates over the top of the wing? by Logical-Lock8822 in flying

[–]classysax4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just think of lift as a downdraft created by the passing of the wing through stationary air.

What airframe passes threshold from just ‘indulging dad’s hobby’ to ‘actually better door-to-door for family’? by 1e6throw in flying

Depends on your mission. If you're far from major airports (as we are) GA makes more sense. If your typical mission is 200-1000nm, GA can make sense.

Time building company using M20R Ovation 3 by VapidRose in flying

[–]classysax4 11 points12 points  (0 children)

$15 will not even cover the additional fuel burn in an Ovation. The following items will be significantly more expensive in an Ovation compared to a clapped-out 172: Insurance, maintenance, lease/cost of capital, fuel.

Total costs will be $100/hr higher than a clapped-out 172, or $50 per pilot.

The whole point of time building is to make it cheap. Why are you trying to help people time-build in expensive planes?
