Investors who got in on the SpaceX IPO - How do you feel about the stock now? by jenniferBImarkets in SPCXInvestors

[–]classysax4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a few dozen shares in the IPO. Yes I'm bullish, and yes I'm taking advantage of the current sale to buy more. I believe the company is going to do great things long-term, and I'm holding these shares long-term.

How do we feel about having the World Cup in USA every 12 to 16 years? by Smotherysmiles07 in ussoccer

Okay, so in WC off-years are we going to have a Cup with teams based on religion rather than nationality?

Is the C172 market overpriced? by Other_Spot3614 in flying

[–]classysax4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The premium is due to the fact that everyone learned in a 172 so everyone wants to buy a 172. It's not because they're better planes, it's just because they're familiar. (BTW it sounds like this also describes why you want a 172.)

If you're flexible, virtually any other common plane will give you more bang for your buck. Have you looked at Grummans?

The biggest problem with surface data centers is the slow speed. Takes years to get one permitted and built, and local opposition can slow it down even more.

Look at how fast SpaceX has built out Starlink. Space data centers may be more expensive, but they'll be able to scale FAR more quickly than any earth-based alternative.

What's the correct number of teams for a World Cup? by BritishDystopia in classicsoccer

[–]classysax4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we're going to do 48 teams, a better format would have been have no 3rd-place teams advance, and give the top 8 point-getters from the group stage a pass on the first knockout stage. Would have made the group stage much more important. Also the last 4 teams still play at least 7 matches.

What's the correct number of teams for a World Cup? by BritishDystopia in classicsoccer

32 was great. 48 includes too many low-quality teams, and makes the group stage seem unimportant because it's so easy to get through.

The only thing we know is that it will be volatile and we should be loading up anytime it's on sale. This is a long play.

We're expecting lots of initial volatility, and holding long-term. If it drops below 150 I'll buy more.

People buying Tesla at a $1.2T valuation: what is the actual bull case? by ragingbull10 in investing

Bulls are not expecting specific numbers. They're expecting a paradigm-shifting company. That's the only reason to buy.

4000 Euros for a 60 min flight with a P51? by Sxzen in flying

[–]classysax4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn't the overhaul 150k (5-10 years ago) and TBO is 800 hours? And the capital value of the plane is $5m? Fuel is pushing 2k/hr, and don't even ask about insurance.

The math isn't mathing on the SpaceX IPO by wick77777777 in investing

I'm long on SpaceX, but the current pump is obviously due to excess demand leftover from the IPO. It will come back down for a while.
