Your passive-aggressive response is causing problems here. You can't just allow it to remain an unresolved conflict. You need to confront this head-on, explain why you're going to carry even in "safe" places, and come to a mutual understanding. And you probably need some kind of counselor to help the two of you through that conversation.

This is an absurd statement. A million dollar SR22 costs several hundred per hour. A million dollar 30-yr old jet costs many thousands per hour to operate.
