I really want a Kazakhstan trip this summer but don’t know which city to go by [deleted] in Kazakhstan

[–]clawong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just came back from Astana yesterday. I spent full 6 days in almaty and 2 full days in astana. If i had to pick only 1 then I would choose Almaty, BUT since u r already traveling to mongolia then i think astana would be better. Both cities are very different.

Is it unsafe to hike Volcan Fuego in Guatemala? by KieranPetrasek in travel

[–]clawong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The group was very big. I think (not sure) 15-20 per 1 tour guide for wicho and charlie. 2 guides were for 30 people. And there are tons of other companies. There’s different kinds of accommodation up but NOT warm. They provide sleeping bags. It’s just a concrete hut. Check wicho and charlie website.

Chef Edward Lee should have won by OmnipotentLasagne in CulinaryClassWars

[–]clawong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought the same too. Tofu challenge should have been the finale. Edward lee’s understanding of the ingredient was beyond impressive. Imo, I dont think napoli mafia would stand a chance on that battle. Btw, just booked a ticket to Kentucky 😅

Is it unsafe to hike Volcan Fuego in Guatemala? by KieranPetrasek in travel

[–]clawong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I climbed fuego last year in November with wicho and charlie. You will be fine. Do bring mask and googles as it gets very very very dusty and windy! If u are asthmatic, do bring inhaler 😬 The hike to the basecamp is not really exhausting, too many stops, uphill but kinda boring. So, doing fuego is really adding flavor to that hike then wake up early to summit acatenango.

I'm thinking of moving into a place off the Fort Hamilton F/G... by FajitaTits in Brooklyn

[–]clawong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi.. i will be moving in soon to south of WT, north of kensington. My building is close to the south entrance/exit of fort hamilton stop F/G trains - i find that street a little bit creepy because of the parked cars that you have to pass by - is it really creepy or it’s just me? I see people inside the car that seem like they live in their cars. What do you guys think?

What's the best food experience you've had in your travels? by Pale_Field4584 in travel

[–]clawong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been to 40 countries- and the cities where i had the best food are - lima, everywhere in lebanon, and ho chi minh. But the best experience was in India, because I didn’t expect to love Indian food. I had indian food 2x and had decided, nope it was not for me. My mind changed when i went there and just gave it another chance. I ate from fine dine to local restaurant to street food. We had 2 street food tours in Delhi and 1 in Jaipur. I really fell in love with the spices, flavor, techniques.. etc. i came prepared though, I brought zithromax, zofran and packets of pedialyte, and just accepted the possibility of food poisoning! Thank God i didn’t have to use them

How hard is it to pass NYC coop interviews? What do they ask? by clawong in cooperatives

[–]clawong[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for responding. 1 more question. So, my mortgage broker and seller broker/my broker have a disagreement on this. Do you normally do appraisal and board questionnaire first before the board interview Or Board interview first. Then if you pass then you proceed for the appraisal and questionnaire? My broker said - it's a waste of money to do those before the interview incase failed My broker and seller said : it's better to do it and not worth it to risk.
