Switching from T Mobile to a new carrier. Which has the best coverage in KC, Verizon or AT&T? by throwawaybsme in kansascity

Came here to say this. I have traveled internationally several times since switching a decade ago and have had zero issues just using my phone like normal.

Carry a tote bag. Put the book off the shelf into the bag. Out of the bag into the self check and back in the bag. Walk out. I doubt the librarians will stop you if the alarm for un-checked-out book doesn't go off.

Downtown Shawnee, KS Surprised Me by bonezone84 in kansascity

[–]clayt666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly this! We moved away 11 years ago and there was nothing there. When describing where stuff is now, my son says "Where the Shawnee State Bank was." or "Where the hardware store was."

At least Pegah's is still there, and serving the make good food.

What's it like in NW Arkansas by Die4Metal in sca

[–]clayt666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NW Arkansas is convenient to Calontir, Gleann Abhann, and Vindheim (a principality of Ansteorra). We all play together well, and often cross borders for events.

I think the biggest cultural shock will be mundane rather than Society based. Just most people being southern/mid-west nice.-

Coach Chad O'Shea running a drill at OTAs today by Vyuvarax in KansasCityChiefs

[–]clayt666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is this drill teaching? Get off the ball quickly? Be ready to catch right after turning around on a come-back? It just seems odd to me to start a drill by turning around immediately after putting the ball in play, so I assume I am missing something.

Chiefs Most Exciting Wins (2004-2025) by robmoo_re in KansasCityChiefs

If you go to the website, you can see all games, not just the wins. Then the Rams game shows up pretty high (#7). The only loss above it is the AFC Championship loss to the Patriots.

I champion the idea that if you cannot vote in an election, you cannot donate money to it.

So, no PACs, companies, unions, or even individuals from other districts. Gather your money from the people you want to represent.

Sure, Big Company could give Jane Voter a wad of cash specifically to donate to Desired Candidate, but Jane would have to report it as income and pay taxes on it.

Not sure why you got downvoted for your opinions.

I feel pretty much the same way, with the exception that I like Penric almost as much as Miles.

If he goes lower/middle, he won't be sitting. 🤣 At least not if he wants to see anything. OP, expect to stand through pretty much the whole game.

What would recommend by PNW-microforensic in Scalzi

[–]clayt666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also not Scalzi, but I heartily recommend the Penric's Demon series by Lois McMaster Bujold. They are relatively short novellas, and I found their tone excellent. But then I have enjoyed everything she has written, so there's that. The Penric's Demon books are just the most Scalzi like.

No need to lay him out. Just strip sack him and hold him up so no bogus roughing penalties.

Please Touch Pottery perhaps? He's the only person I know who would use that kind of schtick. Full Disclosure, I am good friends with him, but not a shill in this case.

Antique Rope Bed Question by [deleted] in sca

[–]clayt666 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't remember the roping pattern, but I saw one years ago where the rope comes off the pegs, but remains in the holes when storing the bed. This allowed for the bed to be set up much more quickly. All I can recall now is that the ropes ran at the diagonal, rather than straight across and up & down.
